____
Blame the police. If they could use OC Spray responsibly then the general public might be able to. But until then it isn't going anywhere fast.

Mercifull
Its not the police fault its the courts. If you sprayed CS or fired a TASER at a burgler or attacker they can sue you. I blame the judges and lawyers that let people get away with this. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. bucky
Yeah the whole thing is [cabbage]. :x But if you're interested in self-defence, there are plenty of martial arts around, although specialised courses are much better. Failing that, poke them in the eye, kick them in the groin or the knee. Always works. Also, you'd be surprised at how effective a good yell can be. If you're not expecting it it scares the [bleep] outta you; itll also draw bystanders' attention. Having done karate for 5 years I honestly believe my kiai (read: warcry) is the most powerful technique I've learnt for self-defence. Very entertaining for punishing people who piss me off as well :D
DaN
PepperSpray can be purchased over the counter in Western Australia I have some in my car. ~Dan64AuSince 27 Aug 2002
BlueLancer
Pepper spray would be a lot more useful in a real situation with somebody robbing, mugging etc. you than a taser. Why? Because most people just assume "I have the power of temporarily paralyzing him. I'm unbeatable". That's not the case. I don't want to answer any questions on how I know this personally but it takes at least 4 to 10 seconds to really stop a person from moving, and even during that time the robber could easily break it or interrupt by punching you. If you just think you'll "fire a shot", then forget it. I guarantee you it wont work even on a dog. This device is meant to be used by people who know what they're doing, for self defense, I really wouldn't suggest it.
paul_wilson
well, i plan to propell it with a small squirty bottle. And a knife is also considerd a cincealed weapon and i doubt a small plastic bottle will call much attention to its self First and only pixel thinger I made. And whether you use it in self defense or not its illegal and considered assault if you used it on a person regardless if they were attacking you. yes its a stupid law but its there. respect it. Lionheart_0
:? Why the hell do you need a wepon for self defence? I think the best thing you could do is learn jui-jitsu, cause if a person attacks you, you can put them to sleep and then run away so its not assult cause your just defending yourself. Why would you need any self defence though. Here are some tips: Dont go out late at night, unless with a large groupe Stay in crowded places at nigh dont go down dark allyways be wary of starangers Thats all you need, and you hsould be fine. ____
That doesn't exactly work here. At least not in Brisbane anyone. People have been attacked: - In daylight - In some of the busiest parts of the city - Either by themself or in a group Trust me, people don't give a [cabbage] about what time it is and who is about. For example: There was a huge fight in the Queen Street Mall (busiest place in Brisbane during the day) and I'm talking something like 30 people just all-in brawl. And like a year ago some guy go beaten unconcious in the middle of the day right outside the CASINO of all places. And again in the same place (I think) a guy got beaten to DEATH for his SHOES. Not to say Brisbane is dangerous on average it's fairly safe. But like, you never know sometimes :-?
