Sam
I don't believe there are any issues with it, because Sun Microsystems engineers Java for Linux aswell, not just OSX Leopard & Windows. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM

Ellhound
It works, the only requirement for RS is sun java. So just make sure you have SUN java installed, and not another version. (my opensuse installed another java by default, which doesnt work with RS) [Ellhound JR][Combat [bleep]][138][200M Attack XP][134/200M Hitpoints XP][250+ jad kills][ <!-- m -->http://www.ellhound.com<!-- m -->]
dsavi
Assuming you use Ubuntu, I found a guide which worked for me: (You should also install your proprietary graphics driver, or possibly the open source one it you're on ATI) But I suggest only trying this if the above advice does not work. http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p= ... ostcount=
Makoto_the_Phoenix
I've noticed major performance regressions with Ubuntu 9.04 as opposed to Ubuntu 8.10, but you should be alright. Just make sure that you have the proprietary drivers and Sun Java 6.
