Renting a weapon that you can sue to potentially recoup the fee is completely sensible, though. Distracted Posted August 31, 2009 Share Posted August 31, 2009 Well, it's strange, it just has to do with the fact you're wearing whatever rare you borrowed. I remember when a friend borrowed me a santa. I didn't pay for it at the time, but just wearing it made me feel happier, in a strange way. I think if he told me I have to pay, that I actually would've done so (as long as it's not too expensive). So yeah, I think it might be more to feel good yourself then to make yourselves look better. I'm giving something fake and worthless for something equally fake and worthless. If I get a kick out of it for 30 seconds, then it was worth it. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if I think it will be amusing I'll do it. To be honest I couldn't care less about my status, wealth, or "skill" in a computer game.
