Ya, they have been able to work for a while. But until recently they haven't been used. Now for Sp Mage tasks you can use the Zamorak Hawk as your God Item since they changed it to let familiars go across the bridge now. I havn't used it yet, but once i get a trimmed cape i most likely will.
