Visage

Im now determined to get myself a visage. I have killed black drags on numerous times with slayer and recently used all my blood runes (4k worth) and a full invent of anti fire pots and headed to steels. Camped there for an age and still nothing.

I know all about the wheels etc and spending longer in one area to maximise your chances. Is there anything else i can do to increase my chances??

Also if im banking the black d-hide at black drags even with a BoB i can only stay there so long. or do i need to leave the hides??

Any tips would be most helpful

TY

Spending more time in an area doesn't affect the drop rate. The only thing that does is the ring of wealth.

Pick up the dragonhide. Also, you're doing something wrong if you use an entire inventory of antifires a trip. Really, 6 antifires, max, will fill your inventory with drops. Bring range potions as well if you're ranging.

I killed steel dragons from 94-99 magic and got 0 visages. Obviously this is just my personal experience, but I feel like they are too rare to camp for, and if I were you I would just keep doing slayer and hope to get lucky with dragons or any other creature.

While it's true that spending more time in an area doesn't influence the drop rate at all, the ring of wealth DOESN'T increase the chance of a visage drop. Jagex have confirmed this.

Really? I'd like to see that confirmation.

Tbh, I would forget all of the conventional dragons. They don't have fantastic drop rates, take a while to kill, and are crowded enough to really dent your xp.

Kill Wyverns. With a cannon and the right set up, you could kill a lot of them per hour (80-100). I'm not sure what the drop rate of the visage is, but if you do know, it's easy work from here. Wyverns have an above-average drop rate. I think it's about the same as Mithril Dragons and KBDs, and it's A LOT easier to kill.

In addition, it's more rewarding. Sure you don't get a chance at a Dfull or all the little rune drops of the KBD, but Wyverns drop crimsons every other kill, and since they drop crimsons in 2s, you can expect 1 crim per wyvern killed (as a ratio). That adds up over time. By the time you get a visage there, you'd have thousands of crimsons. If the drop rate is 1/2000 (total guess), you'd have 2k crimsons by the time you get a visage.

It doesn't have the raw money that black dragons can provide, but they are quick, easy, and systematic to kill and have a high drop rate. If I were hunting for a visage, I wouldn't think twice about going to Wyverns.

At your stats with a cannon, best gear, piety, and titan (healing) you should manage over 90 kills an hour. This, however is on task. You could use Void to replace the slayer helm's bonuses, but that's a large drop in defense. You are maxed melee though, so it might be worth it.

In addition, since you are not on task, feel free to bank at any time and leave your cannon spinning.

what familiar to bring healing or bob?

To wyverns? I hear of people bring a BoB with food then when that is low/out use a healing familiar. Since you're only 81 summoning you can't use a Unicorn (what a same). I suggest to bring a War Tort with 1-2 Bunyip pouches, the rest sharks. Then in your inventory bring normal stuff for killing. And the rest with sharks. Once you can remove all items from the BoB do so and summon the Bunyip.

Idk how well this would work, but it should let you last long enough. And instead of bring just 1 or the other you can bring both and last longer. You may also try a Fire/Ice/Moss Titan to heal with.

just keep at it i got my first visage on slayer at irons took like 20 kills to get it 2nd was same week at wyverns and i wasnt even wearing a ring of wealth

As people stated right above your post, RoW doesn't affect the visage drop chances as it is considered a bonus drop (like clues, charms and champion scrolls) so saying you weren't even wearing a RoW is kind of pointless. :P

8 Dragon Boots (885 kills, 1/111, with RoW)

A visage is a srop of a lifetime. Does it mean youll get it in 2-3 hours? Most likely not. Possible but totally irrelevant. If you continue training set a goal. Something like 95 attack. You then train to your goal. If its a pretty significant goal then you wpuld most likely get a vsiage.

Wear melee gear with mind shield and whip.

Pray 5%/10% and use a bunyip or titan for most of the food. The magic attack only hits low digits and there melee attack sucks.

Don't bother praying protect and just use pineapple pizza's.

O and D mace is a great spec weapon for them.
