September 13, 200916 yr no and no, they changed this a while back. You would be able to sell a rare to the store for like 1gp, but the shop price on it would be the ge price I believe.

But since the shop update a few weeks ago, i'm not even sure if you can see items in general stores that other people sell. Want to be my friend?
