He he, NO. WoW is the most popular MMORPG ever made, Runescape merely has the most accounts made.

 

Jagex makes a good game, yes, but they've lost touch with their fanbase, don't care about their customers, and don't operate like a business. Thus I voted for Lions Head.

It must be because I'm F2P then. I guess I haven't experienced what it's like to be in the "update ranters" crowd.

 

Personally, I don't really care about what updates Jagex gives us. As long as they give us a good, playable game, I'm happy.

 

Btw, things like Free Trade and Old Wilderness were removed, because of RWT. Jagex has no choice there. If they followed the community, then Runescape will be ruined for good.

There would be no runescape if they had not taken away free trade and removed the old wilderness.

It had to be done. At least the game is still up and running.

 

That was a damn good move on Jagex' part. They nearly rid the game of every single bot and RWT'er.

As a company, that was an extremely bold and well planned move.

Deemed bad updates? By who? I repeat, the same crybabies who take a shot at Jagex for every week's updates? Baw, the quest is too hard. Baw, the quest is too easy. Baw the skill update's too high. Baw, the skill update's too low. Baw, the monster's too hard. Baw, the monster's too easy. Baw, those graphics suck. Baw, now other graphics look lame in comparison.

 

As for Meili, who cares? Apparently being old school didn't give Meili enough common sense to know that no MMO is ever a finished product, and in some cases may undergo dramatic changes to deal with the competition (See Ultima Online Trammel Update), freefalling subscriber numbers (See Star Wars Galaxies: New Game Enhancements), legal issues caused by real world traders (See Runescape), player demand (See World of Warcraft's Honor, prestige, Cataclysm, etc updates), or just to appeal to a wider audience (See Dungeons and Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited expansion).

 

Will some people quit over updates that dramatically change aspects of the game? Yes. There are still "veterans" who complain about how the NGE updates to Star Wars Galaxies killed the game when, in reality, the subscriber numbers were free falling, and going by the rate of dropped subscriptions that Sony was seeing, actually saved the game. SWG may not have as many subscribers as it used to, but very few MMOs age well, and today's subscriber numbers are a blessing compared to what it would have been without the update.

Guys, lay off the arguing about WoW vs RS, this isn't what this thread is for.

 

If you want to vote for someone else good for you, but lets not start an argument about it. :-|
