October 20, 200916 yr My other one got deleted for some reason... anyways: Back in June, we announced that Jagex has been shortlisted for the Golden Joystick Awards as one of the UKs top developers. We were really touched to see Jagex recognised in this way by the gaming community and shocked by the fantastic response from our players (who crashed the voting website when we released the newspost). This post is just to say that the poll closes at the end of this week, so if you wish to vote for Jagex and have not yet done so, this is your last chance! If you dont know anything about the awards and still want to show your support for Jagex, you can do so by visiting the Golden Joystick website at www.goldenjoystick.com and clicking on the UK Developer of the Year listing on the Vote Now page. We also recommend that you un-tick the preference boxes if you dont wish to be contacted by the organisers or any third parties. We hope that you all continue to enjoy RuneScape as much as we enjoy making it. October 20, 200916 yr Arrogant wastrels. They're not the best developers of anything, overfed on their hubris as they are. Furthermore, it's ridiculous to solicit your players to vote for you... multiple times. If someone truly felt they were that great, they would vote on their own. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

October 20, 200916 yr I would never have voted for them if they hadnt put it on the site. In fact, I didnt even know about the award untill they said it on the site.... It seems like a huge thing, so I dont get what the problem of advertising it is, they arent the only ones advertising it. ........::::: Rainy's YouTube Channel - Rainy's Twitter - Rainy's Facebook - Rainy's DeviantArt - Rainy's Tumblr - Rainy's Tip.It Profile :::::.........

If I had known about Golden Joystick without Jagex' informant headline, I would have voted on my own. However, I had no clue about this award, and with Jagex' help I was able to vote. Honestly, what's so wrong about advertising something to get an upper hand. Blizzard spams World of Warcraft commercials on T.V. and flings their advertisements all over the internet. However, I don't see you complaining about how they advertise. There is nothing wrong with trying to win.

October 21, 200916 yr After Jagex's rubbish updates, who would want to vote for them..... Oh yeah, the 12 year olds who reduced this game to the simplicitiy level it's now at. Proper Daily blogging including Starcraft 2! Includes goal for 80+ all stats
October 21, 200916 yr voted for rare. [bleep] jagex. I laughed out loud, well done XD Proper Daily blogging including Starcraft 2! Includes goal for 80+ all stats

WoW is the most popular MMORPG ever made, Runescape merely has the most accounts made. Jagex makes a good game, yes, but they've lost touch with their fanbase, don't care about their customers, and don't operate like a business. Thus I voted for Lions Head. Thus I voted for Lions Head.It must be because I'm F2P then. I guess I haven't experienced what it's like to be in the "update ranters" crowd. Personally, I don't really care about what updates Jagex gives us. As long as they give us a good, playable game, I'm happy. Btw, things like Free Trade and Old Wilderness were removed, because of RWT. Jagex has no choice there. If they followed the community, then Runescape will be ruined for good. I'm more concerned with bald faced lies like "The G.E. is player controlled", Mod Frenkitz or whatever's assertion that the economy is fine due to the state of D Chain, mods who insult player's with legitimate problems, and their total lack of tech, customer, or in-game support. Without us, no one will be putting stuff into the GE. You're right about inflation though. D Chain is just an example. That's weird, I don't see any mods insulting players with legitimate problems. In fact, I hardly see any mods in RSOF. :-? Btw, the updates... well at least the majority of them were necessary ones. Some may have dumbed down the difficulty of RS, but other than that, it's pretty good. Nah, Valve are awesome. But I voted for Dead Space as best Xbox game of the year. My favourite game of all time. I also voted for Jagex, I don't see what's wrong with informing players about the awards. I missed the first newspost anyways, so it really helped. And would you guys stop your petty arguments? You didn't vote for Jagex, big [cabbage]. We don't really care who you vote for. Stop arguing about it, it's all personal preference for gods sake.

WoW lost tonnes of its members after China introduced some laws, it's like half the size it was.

Some may have dumbed down the difficulty of RS, but other than that, it's pretty good.I'm referring to an infamous incident where a player lost 300 mil at Mobilizing Armies due to a glitch. When he posted on a the RSOF, a mod called him a liar throughout the thread then, when proven wrong, apologized to him in a condescending manner telling him he was lucky to get the apology. And WoW's not down to half their peak population. They currently have 11.5 million subscribers- about the same number of active Runescape accounts. October 21, 200916 yr Raven does have a point on the Mod thing when it came to MA. The guy had a legitimate beef, he was then ridiculed and called a liar by a Mod, and then when he was vindicated he got a half-assed apology. I get the not returning items, but he didn't need to be treated the way he was. This website and its contents are copyright © 1999 - 2010 Jagex Ltd.

October 21, 200916 yr People do know, various games advertise this on their own behalf, and it is definitely not just Jagex. I personally don't have the time to vote, so I won't, but I would vote to Jagex if i had the time. Want to be my friend? October 21, 200916 yr I wouldn't vote for them for this year. Not after the content that they've given us. I would love it if Andrew could receive his own reward strictly for game programming. This website and its contents are copyright © 1999 - 2010 Jagex Ltd.
October 22, 200916 yr I wouldn't vote for them for this year. Not after the content that they've given us. I would love it if Andrew could receive his own reward strictly for game programming.I would vote for that. The fact that he created an entire, corporation creating MMORPG from his garage, or was it room?, is a feat worthy of much praise. The only other single programmer I can think of who comes close it Toady1, the creator of Dwarf Fortress.
