Upgrade to Vista 32Bit

Just wondering if my computer can handle Vista 32Bit or stick to 'ol XP (Of which im sick of).

Running 2 HDD's both 40GB, One for OS the other for Data storage + 160GB Portable.

Radeon 9200 Graphics Card

Pentium 4, 2.4GHz Processor

768Mb RAM (Yes thats an odd number because for some reason my motherboard only supports SD/DDR1)

The only issue I have is the RAM factor since finding DDR1/SD is a freaking nightmare and for SOME REASON the designer of this made it 2000$ (8 years ago) when the RAM was already going outdated then.

Personally I wouldn't run Vista with under 2GB of RAM.

Agreed. I don't think you'll be happy with the outcome, even if you do upgrade the RAM.

Main problem is I dont have my own computer (Which is just sad at 19) so im forced to use a family one that slowly keeps dieing until it implodes into a vortex of doom and cupcakes.

Neither do I, but surely there's nothing wrong with upgrading the family computer? I'm sure they'd appreciate it as well.

Whatever you do don't go to Vista. Windows 7 actually runs better on lower end/older hardware than Vista does, and its better. I say get it up to 2GB of RAM and then look into upgrading the OS. I have personally had the Beta and RTM versions of Windows 7 running quite nicely on a similar machine, in both age and components, so I'm confident that it should work for you as well.
