Evaluate Posted November 2, 2009 Share Posted November 2, 2009 Ok, so general idea, my uncle recommended uTorrent to me because of my growing interest in music and my lack of funds to pay for said music from, say, iTunes. I never actually got a chance to ask him the specifics though, and I don't really talk to him much because our schedules are both quite busy. Anyway, main point, I download uTorrent, but as for actually using the program and such, I'm completely lost. If you can give me the "uTorrent for dummies" treatment, it would be greatly appreciated. All torrents aren't illegal, and it is a good way for some people to share legit files. I think as long as it stays away from sites filled with illegal files and sticks on the program itself this will be fine. RpgGamer Posted November 2, 2009 Share Posted November 2, 2009 I have a quesiton concerning this uTorrent as well (not to thread hijack, its just convienient) When you download a torrent, you become a seed correct? To me this sounds like a huge security risk becaues the internet effectivly looks to your computer for data to download. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I don't know where to get such files and all that. All I've done was download and install the uTorrent program.
