November 10, 200916 yr Tanking Zamorak and Bandos the awesomeness Way! THIS IS THE SAME GUIDE I'M POSTING IT UNDER A NEW ACCOUNT NAME AND HAVING THE GUIDE UNDER MY OTHER ACCOUNT NAME REMOVED FOR VARIOUS REASONS :) Table of Contents 1. Introduction 2. How to get to GWD 3. Bandos 4. Zamorak 5. Duo/trio tanking 6. Tanking Zamorak and Bandos 7. Miscellaneous thing about GWD that you need to know (tips, summoning at GWD, etc.) 8. Final Notes 9. Credits 1. Introduction This guide will be on how to tank at Bandos and Zamorak. This guide will include: recommended requirements, equipment, what familiar to use, where to stand, how to tank the boss, etc. The first two sections of this guide are about the gear and inventories to bring, keep reading for information on how to tank the bosses and more. This is the second time this guide has been posted but this version has a lot more details and is more organized then the last one. A few notes on things mentioned throughout the guide: All potions that have an extreme pot alternative (such as prayer potions) should be swapped with them allowing for longer trips. If you have under 92 prayer use normal prayers if you have over 92 use curses. Curses are obtained after completing the quest The Temple at Senntisten (this is a link to the tipit guide)ummm probably more coming soon when I find things. 2. How to get there and where to get the kill count Getting There (Routes are color coded) Route 1: By far the best route to take, requires completion of eadgar's ruse and 61 magic. Route 2: This is the very slow option to get there (you should just spend the time and do the quest... much faster) Teleport to the games room using a games necklace then bank at the warriors guild if you need to. This shouldn't matter but warriors guild can be accessed after your attack plus strength level equals 130+ or you have 99 in either attack or strength. If you can't already use the warriors guild then you shouldn't be tanking. The almighty Oo'glog pools! To use these you must have completed As a first resort quest. There are two ways to get here, teleport to mobilising armies and run directly east or take a charter boat to Oo'glog. Thermal pool- boosts HP, heals posion/disease Sal[bleep]er pool- gives unlimited run energy for a period of time depending on your agility level Sulfur pool- boosts your prayer level +8 Bandos pool- makes you a follower of bandos for 1 hour, most important pool to use, this means no bandos monster will attack you for 1 hour. Getting to the Pools Route 1 and 2 are obviously the best ones and I have no idea why you would even need to use any of the others but i'm still gonna list them. Route 1: Take a boat. Route 2: Mobilising armies teleport Route 3: Fairy ring AKS Route 4: Yanille, either use watchtower teleport or house teleport if your house is in yanille Route 5: teleport to castle wars using a dueling ring Obtaining Bandos Killcount (areas in order of color of the name) Area 1: Should be used if you have a zamorak item (even if you don't it's still a good spot) Kill the goblins here. Ya I know the map shows it in the zamorak area but there are 4 or 5 goblins there. Can be used with area 1: Hit the already fighting hobgoblins then go kill the goblins in area 1, once the goblins are dead do it again. Only do this if you brought a zamorak item. Area 2: This spot is good for people who didn't bring a bandos item or use the Oo'glog pools. Kill the hobgoblins here. I really don't recommend doing this-Area 3used withBlue area: Use the cyan area and kill the goblins and damage any hobgoblins in combat with the werewolf (there's only really ever 1 bandos npc in combat so you have to do all the killing yourself). Once you've killed all the goblins, head to the blue area where there are 3 goblin spawns. Rinse and repeat. If you get low hp from the aviansies either protect range (don't let your prayer get lower then a single use of super restore) or heal from the ogre or jogre.(I copy and pasted that last paragraph from JoeDaStudd) *map found on tipit's website (edited by me) Spot 1 Spot 2 Spot 3 Obtaining Zamorak Killcount (areas in order of color of the name) Area 1: The fastest way to get the kill count for zamorak, because you can just hit the monster and let the saradomin minions finish it while you kill another. But it does have one draw back, it requires a saradomin item. Kill anything here as long as it is already attacking a saradomin monster and doesn't turn on you. There are also two imps and two icefiends here. Area 2: This spot is good because imps are fast and are very weak. Kill the imps here, the red dots are around where they spawn. *map found on tipit's website (edited by me) Spot 1 Imp Spawns 3. Preparing for Bandos Bandos tanking armor focuses on range defense because you will be praying melee and Graardors' secondary attack is ranged. This boss is definitely recommended to fight if it is your first time tanking. Use the Oo'glog pools before coming here so you don't need a bandos item, otherwise you will need one. Also, there are zamorak monsters but you can just run by them if you don't want to bring a zamorak item. The Oo'glog pools require the quest "as a first resort" completed. (the how to get there and where to get kill count has the Oo'glog pools included in it) Requirements and Gear Requirements Required/recommended/awesomeness Attack- 80/85/95+ Strength- 80/85/95+ Defence- 85/90+/99 Mage- um really anything/80+/95+ Prayer- 70/92+/95+ Summoning- 52/67+/88+ Equipment Ring(i)=MA rings Helm- Guthan's helm Necklace- Fury>glory>god stole Plate body- Guthan's plate Plate legs- Guthan's chainskirt Cape- Fire cape>Trimmed skill cape>skill cape>god cape>god cloak Weapon- Guthan's warspear, you should bring a saradomin godsword or enhanced excaliber(explained later in the guide in the tips section) Shield- none Boots- Dragon boots>Bandos boots>Infinity boots(for mage defense against Steelwill)>Rune boots Gloves- Barrows>regen brace>Dragon>Rune Ring- Berserker ring(i)>onyx(i)>dragonstone(i)>warrior(i)>ring of charos(i)>Explorer ring>Berserker ring>Warrior ring>seer's ring(i)>Seer's ring(for mage defense against Steelwill)>Ring of life Familiar used for guthan tanking Large clan(mass)- *unicorn stallion>*titan>*bunyip>*fruit bat Small clan: 4-5- *unicorn stallion>*titan>*bunyip>*fruit bat>**pack yak>**war tortoise>**terrorbird *Using a healing familiar you should replace 1-2 brews for 1-2 pouches, for unicorn stallion, titan, and fruit bat scrolls are needed. Your inventory and your familiar's inventory HAMMER!(always needed at bandos never forget it) Quick teleport- teleport tablet, ectophiel, elf crystal Optional but recommended- saradomin godsword or enhanced excaliber Super restore- 6-8 Saradomin brew- 16-18 Runes for an attack spell to cast on Graardor, wind strike works nicely. If you want bring a B.O.B of burden pouch in your inventory if you don't want to have to get it out of your B.O.B to renew it. *bring a saradomin godsword if you can afford it, if you can't bring then bring an enhanced excaliber if you can use that. Your Familiar's Inventory Terrorbird- *Replace the titan with a bunyip if you can't use a titan. War tortoise- *Replace the titan with a bunyip if you can't use titan. Pack yak- Don't use it because it will be mostly filled with pouches. *Using a unicorn stallion is far better then a titan so use it if you can. 4. Gearing up for Zamorak There are two methods to tanking zamorak, the first being the one for the lower leveled players and the second being the one for the higher leveled players. Method TWO is actually the best method. *All credit for method two goes to Cantristenon.*A little side note, for some reason the minions at zamorak seem to focus on the tank more then the others. (someone might need to confirm this) Requirements and Gear (two methods) Method One: For people without 95 prayer and 88 summoning Requirements Required/recommended/awesomeness Attack- 80/85+/95+ Strength- 80/85+/95+ Defence- 90/95+/99 Mage- 80/85+/99 Range- 70+ (for the armor) Prayer- 70/92+/95+ Summoning- 52/67+/88+ Equipment Ring(i)=MA rings Helm- Black mask/slayer helm(if your task is lesser demons)>helm of neitnotz>verac Necklace- Fury>glory>god stole Platebody- Armadyl platebody>karil's leathertop>black d'hide/zamorak d'hide Platelegs- Armadyl platelegs>karil's leatherskirt>black d'hide/zamorak d'hide Cape- Fire cape>trimmed skill cape>god cape>skill cape>god cloak Weapon- Abyssal whip>saradomin godsword>armadyl godsword>bandos godsword>zamorak godsword Shield- elysian spirit shield>divine spirit shield>spectral spirit shield>dragonfire shield>rune defender>unholy book Boots- Dragon boots>infinity boots>rune boots Gloves- Barrows>dragon>regen brace>rune>infinity Ring- Berserker ring(i)>onyx(i)>dragonstone(i)>seer's ring(i)>warrior(i)>ring of charos(i)>explorer ring>berserker ring>seer's ring>warrior ring>ring of life Familiar used for zamorak tanking Large clan(mass)- *unicorn stallion>*titan>war tortoise>terrorbird>*bunyip>*fruit bat Small clan: 4-5- *unicorn stallion>war tortoise>*titan>*bunyip>*fruit bat *these familiars require scrolls to heal Your inventory and your familiar's inventory Super anti poison or anti poison++! Tanking K'ril and Graardor Here comes trouble! :ohnoes: Tanking Graardor Pray melee protect for both methods Kill the minions in this order: mager, ranger, meleer Guthan tanking *If you brought runes for a spell then click the spell before he spawns then use it on him as soon as he spawns. *After he spawns and you hit him so he attacks you, walk over to the mage and start healing on it with guthan. *If you kill the mage before your team kills graardor then start attacking the ranger because you're already praying melee, if the mager spawns again before graardor is dead then switch back to him. *After he is dead, switch to healing on the ranger instead of the mager so your team can kill the mager, praying protect against his style of attack, or if your hp is full take out a godsword if you brought it. *Finally, when all the minions are dead get back in your spot and wait for the spawn again. The on/off thing, after graardor is dead make sure the team is not attacking the minion you're healing on, if they are then tell them to get off. When you're hp is full tell them to kill it saying on. Stand here to lure Yellow square- You stand here Red area- Team stands here (west wall) Green dot- Graardor spawns here Tanking in a laggy world (you shouldn't do this but if you have to because bandos is normally crowded then this is how) * This is basically the same as normal worlds, heal on the mage and if he dies before graardor then switch to ranger, if mage spawns again kill it. * Although, for this you should "safe" while killing graardor, which means keep your hp above about 60 or 70 just incase you lag and he hits you with range. * It is important to safe while doing this because he can hit you high with range and the mage may hit you at the same time causing a lot of damage total. * If you lag then keep your mouse over some food just incase. * Stand in the same spot as normal. Tanking K'ril Method One Pray melee here * Just like bandos you always need to be the first one to hit k'ril, use a spell if you have runes. * Try to keep your prayer low because he uses his special less often if it's low (coming from Cantristenon's experience) * After you hit him just keep attacking him and watch your hp and prayer. When he shouts that means he is using his special which hits through prayer and max's 49 and is very easy to get comboed with it and a minion attack, so always keep your hp above around 65. * It's worth noting that his special hits hard almost every time he uses it, i've never seen it hit under a 30. * His special attack also drains a portion of your prayer so watch your prayer very carefully while you fight him. * After he is dead kill the minions in this order: mager, ranger, then meleer. * Finally, when all the minions are dead restore your prayer and hp then get into the spot to lure him and wait for him to spawn. * Always remember to use the saradomin godsword or enhanced excaliber special whenever you can. Method Two Pray mage here *Once again you have to be the first to hit it and use a spell if you have runes *With this method his special attack won't hit and won't drain prayer so watching your prayer isn't nearly as big of a problem *You can choose to do one of two things with this method: You can either keep attacking him using guthan's spear or you can take out your other weapon and kill him with that. Personally I alternate between the two, if he starts to hit me often I use guthan's spear if not I use whip or gs. If you choose to use guthan's spear you should be praying turmoil also since guthan's spear is so inaccurate on bosses, even though I still recomend using it no matter what weapon you use. *After he's dead you can again choose to do one of two things: You can either kill them in this order: Mager, ranger, melee or you can kill them in this order: Ranger, mager, melee. The second one is if you need to heal with guthans after he's dead let the clan kill the mage fast. *If you choose to do the second option you should pray soul split (I flash pray it but it's hard to time guthans) while using guthan's spear because one good hit with soul split and guthan's spear can heal tons allowing you to kill the mage with the rest of the team when you're healed. *Again, remember to heal using an enhanced excaliber or saradomin godsword. Use the saradomin godsword on a minion and the enhanced excaliber in between spawns after the minions are dead. Note: JoeDaStudd asked if using piety makes k'ril's max higher, I don't see how this would at all. The on/off thing, does not apply to zamorak. Stand here to lure Yellow square- You stand here Red area- Team stands here (Northeast corner or wall north of the alter) Green dot- K'ril spawns here Tanking in a laggy world Plain and simple, do not do this at zamorak. Duo/trio tanking Bandos * Unlike guthan tanking you should keep attacking Graardor until he is dead because you won't be healing on a minion. * Pray piety or 10% defence when you barrows tank, you get hit less and with piety get faster kills. When you get under around 60 hp use a dose of saradomin brew. * Use a super restore dose every 2 or 3 brew doses, don't use one every time you use a brew dose. The sharks are for when you need to heal but have full prayer points or enough to make drinking a restore dose a waste. * After he is dead just keep killing the minions and praying protect against them until they are dead. * When the minions are dead heal and restore prayer points if you need to then stand in your spot to lure. * If you brought an enhanced excaliber use it in between spawns, if you brought a saradomin godsword then use the special on a minion to allow better hits. *Using piety with 70 prayer and 15 prayer bonus your prayer drains in around 2.7 minutes, using 10% defence your prayer drains in about 5.2 minutes; also, using 10% defence and strength drains prayer at the same speed as piety so don't bother with that. Zamorak Pray mage here *Once again you have to be the first to hit it and use a spell if you have runes *With this method his special attack won't hit and won't drain prayer so watching your prayer isn't nearly as big of a problem *In duo/trio tanking you're going to have to use your other weapon (whip or gs) to kill k'ril and just eat/use uni scrolls if you need too although I find that with this method you don't eat a ton in dou/trio. *After he's dead heal on the ranger using a combo of guthan/soul split for very fast healing then if you're team is having trouble with the mage go help, if not then keep killing the ranger. *Again, remember to heal using an enhanced excaliber or saradomin godsword. Use the saradomin godsword on a minion and the enhanced excaliber in between spawns after the minions are dead. *That's it pretty simple and fairly easy. * Use your enhanced excaliber between spawns if you brought it. Use your saradomin godsword special on a minion, for higher hits, if you brought that. 7. Miscellaneous Things to Help You Tank Summoning Summoning, the one of the most helpful skills for GWD well anywhere for that matter. You should always use this skill in GWD so I will list the good ones for GWD and there uses. This list is divided into two sections, beast of burden and healing familiars, it is listed in order of summoning level from lowest to highest. (I know all of the healers and beast of burden aren't listed I only listed the ones that are good for GWD tanking.) Beast of Burden Level 52: Terrorbird- Holds 12 items and lasts for 36 minutes Level 67: War tortoise- A great familiar for tanking at GWD, holds 18 items and lasts for 43 minutes (it's well worth it's price) level 96: Pack yak- The ultimate beast of burden, holds 30 items and lasts for 58 minutes! To add to it's greatness, the pak yak's scrolls can bank 1 item in your inventory. Healing Familiars For familiars that require scrolls bring at least 50+, I bring a lot more just in case. Level 68: Bunyip- Probably the most useful healing familiar outside of GWD but inside the others are a lot better, it heals 2 hp every 15 seconds and lasts for 44 minutes. Level 69: Fruit bat- Considered the most useful of healing familiars for normal attackers at GWD but as the tank it's a bit to slow and requires inventory to eat so it's not the best. It uses fruit fall scrolls to produce fruit with a 100% chance of dropping a papaya, unless it doesn't produce any fruit at all, which heals 8 hp. Also, it constantly produces fruit in it's inventory. Level 79: Ice, Fire, Moss titan- (they last for 64, 62, 58 minutes) Titans are great for tanking healing 8 and boosting defence, they are better then fruit bats in a duo/trio team only after you use your b.o.b. Requires scrolls to use. Level 88: Unicorn stallion- The ultimate healing familiar, it lasts for 54 minutes and heals up to 15% of your hp, it does require scrolls. The unicorn stailion has a right click option "cure" which cures poison and disease but it does not give any immunity to poison so don't replace super anti poisons because of this(only applys to zamorak). Tips for GWD tanking Just random tips that will help you tank at GWD. <img src='http://forum.tip.it/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_upup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':<img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' />:' /> 1. Always keep your hp over the boss's max hit. 2. You should use spells to lure the boss such as wind strike. This is useful because you can click on the spell before he spawns so you can one click him to attack. 3. When using a beast of burden you should bring a healing familiar pouch in the beast of burden's inventory. 4. Always keep auto retaliate OFF 5. Remember to tell your team to always have auto retaliate OFF 6. Don't waste inventory spaces on super sets because the saradomin brews will make them pointless due to the saradomin brew's stat reducing effect. 7. Always use summoning! :P 8. The terrorbird vs. war tortoise question: Is the war tortoise worth the extra 6k for 6 extra spaces? Yes, at GWD you will need every space you can get and 6k is a very small price to pay for that. Why would you be worried about 6k anyway? I mean it's 6k come on... 9. Don't make the mistake of bringing a summoning potion because super restores restore summoning points. 10. There is an altar in each boss room but you can only use them once every ten minutes and they cannot be used during combat, so do not depend on these for prayer. 11. Saradomin godsword and enhanced excaliber: The saradomin godsword is the ultimate weapon to use while tanking zamorak, but for bandos you should only use it as a secondary weapon to heal. The enhanced excaliber is another useful secondary weapon, never use as primary weapon, it is obtained from the hard seer's village achievement diary. The saradomin godsword special heals half the damage it deals heals hp and 1/4 of the damage it deals heals prayer, it uses half of the special bar. The enhanced excaliber special heals 20 hit points and boosts defence depending on your defence level, it uses the full special bar. 12. If you use route 1 to get to GWD you can teleport there then drop 2 items, teleport back to a bank, put 2 more items in your inventory, then teleport back to trollhiem and pick up your two items that you dropped. This should leave you with a full inventory of food if you did it right. 13. For bandos you don't need a bandos item if you really don't want to bring one you can just get your kill count at hobgoblins then when the team is ready just run to the boss room. NOT advised, this is only for people who cannot use oo'glog pools and really don't want to use an inventory space for a bandos item. 14. For zamorak if you don't want to wear a zamorak item just bring like a zamorak robe top and drop it when you are about to go in. Example: you want to wear karil top but don't want to replace an item for a zamorak item, bring a zamorak robe top to get the kill count. If you want to bring a unholy book it doesn't need pages in it to work as a zamorak item. 15. Vengeance other/self- Someone in my clan brought this and cast it on me before graardor spawned which worked out great. He had a lot of money so some kills he would cast it on me a few times during the same kill. It would be better for a clan member to bring this instead of the tank because it would be wasting space for the tank to bring. 16. Heal other- Used by the other people in the clan not you, have them use this spell to heal you since they don't get hit as much. 17. Extreme potions/overloads are of great use at gwd so if you have them BRING THEM sorry for not including a section on tanking with overloads because I don't have them. 18. Soul split prayer- Combined with guthans this prayer is beast, one good hit with it on can heal tons of hp. I've healed 67-99 hp with it combined with guthans at gwd. I'm not going to include it in the guide because of the fact that if you can afford it why not bring better equipment instead of just looking cool. Final Notes Tell me if anything is wrong, missing, etc. Also, please do not use constructive criticism, just tell me what is wrong and how I should fix it. Just a little note, if you're going to post something like this make sure you check that the correction you're going to post is not already in the guide. (I had somebody who posted things that I was missing but they were already in the guide last time I posted it) Eventually I am going to change my inventory pictures to include runes for wind strike, I haven't gotten around to it yet. ~~~~~~NEW UPDATE FOR GODWARS:~~~~~~ This so called "Bandos update" is not an actual update to bandos to itself. This update is an almost glitch like thing that happened as a result of the summoning update. It is caused by the familiars attacking graardor which causes him to move around and switch tanks. An easy resolution to this is to simply stop your familiars from attacking him. All you need to do is simply order your familiar to attack a minion instead of graardor. 9. November 24, 200916 yr Author I'm now slowly working on getting 87 or 89 herblore(I have some greenmans ale(m)) to test extreme pots tanking. I think using extreme pots might affect what the inventories should be. And super prayers will definitely affect it but that's a long way off from where I am. If anyone has tried these it would be great if you told me how they are tanking at bandos and zamorak :^_^:
November 24, 200916 yr Zamorak tanking can be done in a totally different way a lot more efficiently. Keep your prayer points all the time as low as possible. K'ril specs a lot less often if you have less than 25 prayer points. This means you should take sips of prayer pots/super restores only when your prayer points are between 0 and 2. Running out of prayer doesn't mean quaranteed death. K'ril's melee attack is pretty slow so you will have enough time to sip prayer pot and click your quick prayer. This also means that you shouldn't use altar for prayer recharging. Also, I definitely recommend taking Guthans into your inventory. Use it to heal on mage after you have piled ranger and meleer. I don't recommend using Beast of Burden if you are tanking Zamorak, use only unicorn (take a few pouches yourself and ask your teammates to take a few more if you are going to stay for long. Unicorn scrolls and SGS specs are your main healing ways during kills. If you get specced first click your unicorn scroll, then quickly special bar (if you got 50%) and eat shark if needed. Minions supply a lot of food so if you have decent team they shouldn't be needing them and can trade them for you so you can always have your empty spaces filled with food (I tend to keep around 5 sharks/tuna potatoes on me). You don't need more than 3 saradomin brews for emergency situations if you somehow take a lot of damage during kill and run out of food. Since you are not using brews as your primary weapon, keep your offensive stats boosted. They help a lot in killing speed and especially in SGS specs (Prayer restoring of specs is very important part of this method) I don't really get why you suggest whip as primary weapon.. Yes, Zammy boss has lower defence than other GWD bosses but it's not that low that Godsword's would suck. On last weekend had a nice 9,5 hour Zamorak trip with 6,6m loot :P Zammy spears ftw?
November 24, 200916 yr Awesome guide, will use it once I get the levels, but: awww, why no magic section> i was hoping there'd be one The clock is ticking, and your time is running out, mortals.
November 27, 200916 yr Author Wow that's a lot of stuff lol gonna take it on in pieces.Zamorak tanking can be done in a totally different way a lot more efficiently. Keep your prayer points all the time as low as possible. K'ril specs a lot less often if you have less than 25 prayer points. I wasn't aware of this, has this actually been stated somewhere or is this from experience? I've never noticed this I guess is what I'm trying to say. Use it to heal on mage after you have piled ranger and meleer.Sounds good for a 4 man+ team but not sure how good that would be with 3 man or less, I've never tried bringing guthans in the inventory.I don't recommend using Beast of Burden if you are tanking Zamorak, use only unicorn (take a few pouches yourself and ask your teammates to take a few more if you are going to stay for long. Unicorn scrolls and SGS specs are your main healing ways during kills. If you get specced first click your unicorn scroll, then quickly special bar (if you got 50%) and eat shark if needed. You don't need more than 3 saradomin brews for emergency situations if you somehow take a lot of damage during kill and run out of food.I did recommend using the unicorn stallion but if you're under 88 summoning a beast of burden would be the next best thing. Since you are not using brews as your primary weapon, keep your offensive stats boosted. They help a lot in killing speed and especially in SGS specs (Prayer restoring of specs is very important part of this method)Um what do you mean using brews as a weapon... this is all assuming the person has 88 summoning and a saradomin godsword, if you don't have both of those then sara brews would be better. This guide isn't focused on only people with 88+ summoning, I'll just add another inventory part if you do have 88 summoning. I've never used a unicorn stallion there so I wouldn't have a clue what inventory to use but now that I know I can add it thanks.I don't really get why you suggest whip as primary weapon.. Yes, Zammy boss has lower defence than other GWD bosses but it's not that low that Godsword's would suck.I don't remember ever saying they suck. I think you missed the section on duo/trio tanking when the godsword is actually recommended over the whip....In a 4 man+ I don't see why you would need the extra attack bonuses of a godsword instead of the defence bonuses of a shield. On last weekend had a nice 9,5 hour Zamorak trip with 6,6m loot :P Zammy spears ftw?lol nice did the auto log mess you up any? Never stayed that long cause i've always either got bored or ran outa stuff with no unicorn yet <_< Again, this guide isn't only focused on people with 88+ summoning and a saradomin godsword, which is why I did not have this as the strategy but if you'd like I could add this for 88+ summoners. After I get 88 summoning I plan on going back to do a lot more tanking(I have the charms for 87 atm getting close) :-P Awesome guide, will use it once I get the levels, but: awww, why no magic section> i was hoping there'd be oneThanks :-D what do you mean magic section this is a tanking guide???? :-? If you mean like things to use such as vengeance and heal other, it's in one of the broken hide tags that I can't figure out how to fix :wall: I have a feeling this guide is going to have a semi big update after I get 88 summoning and tank for a few days. EDIT: oh ya I don't check this guide too often, maybe once every like 2 days so I wouldn't count on really fast replies.
November 27, 200916 yr It's not stated anywhere that having low prayer points makes him spc less, it's from experience. Guthan's is always good to have on your inventory, whether you are attacker or tanker (of course you need teammates who you trust to bless if you die), at all 3 GW:s you can melee. Saves you from using a lot of food (with 4 or more people in our team we always have problem of getting too many food drops to use them all). It's helpful to have guthan's for duo zammy too, although it has less importance than with bigger teams. I agree my text is from higher level player perspective :) I meant to say "Since you are not using brews as your primary healing method". My bad :P Offence > defence even if you are tank. Maybe with exception of using elysian shield at zammy (one of the few places where ely > divine because of the importance of having low prayer points without running out of them too quickly still). I timed trip so I logged out myself before 6 hour mark after boss kill. There's always chance next kill will be hilt split but it's not like you could do anything for it.
November 27, 200916 yr My own tips on tanking at K'ril:Each dose of Antipoison++ lasts 5 kills, assuming trio team when each kill is 130-140 seconds long.Zamorak Godsword is effective for any small team, because if you don't attack K'ril in time, freeze and have the rest of the team stand under, to he'll focus on the tanker. Very handy for new tanks, though it is unnecessary as you learn.I agree with Cant, BoB aren't very helpful down there. I used a tort and it ran out in 5 kills, while my unicorn and food drops sustained me for a further 55 kills. (60 kill trio trip, increase with pot share)Heal Other is a good option aswell since attackers don't need the HP, and unicorns keep them more then full, so using it to aid the tank is helpful at times. Good guide otherwise, good basics! So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

Good guide otherwise, good basics!I'm just gonna say this one more time...... that's assuming the person has 88+ summoning. Also, heal other and other mage spells are in one of those broken hide tags <_< I guess I'll just remove the broken hide tags even though that's going to make the guide much longer. EDIT: removed the broken hide tags and changed a lot of stuff. :P
December 5, 200916 yr Author I got the new prayers and I will be testing them at bandos after I get 92 prayer, I have tested them at other monsters though and they own :D This is how I would think they should be used to tank: Pray deflect melee while killing graardor and k'ril obviously Pray leech defence (not sure if it's really needed yet) while killing him. Sap warrior or another leech prayer might also be good in a 4+ team**Pray turmoil while killing him(applies to a duo/trio team)When graardor is dead pray soul split (assuming 92 prayer) and kill the ranger like always**In a decent clan of 4+ people I don't think turmoil would be needed but it would definitely help**High level monsters are considered to have the same stats as a maxed player, 99/99/99 Still working on getting the charms for 88 summoning also but um I'm about to spend like 18m on prayer soooooo could be awhile Slowly editing the guide to include curses
December 30, 200916 yr Posted this into screenshot thread but might put it in here too. For sure the crappiest quality video you have ever seen, my computer can't handle taking better. You get the idea though, I guess. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUjyQEKml50 Yes, it should work for solo too, I have yet to try it. And divine/elysian shield are helpful as well but not needed. This method lucky too ;)
December 31, 200916 yr I'm confuses, are you protecting magic there with melee defense gear? **** me, Tris, that probably works, especially conjoined with a healer  So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

This method lucky too ;)Wow never even thought of that lol definitely gonna go do that now. EDIT: Just did two trips praying mage with full guth (I didn't have a sgs though) and I liked it but I found that on some kills he would all of the sudden get some combos in with his melee attack and hit a good bit of hp from me. I could see this working great with a sgs but I was lacking the sgs, I was using soul split to heal on the minions. Of course it probably didn't help that the two people I did this with both weren't exactly high levels. I'm probably gonna do a couple more trips but with higher level people then add this into the guide somewhere if that's ok.
January 1, 201016 yr Lol, I just did a few solo trips with varying results. Got 3-7 kills per trip. Got some kills without need to use more than a few food, then got some where used like 30 sharks... Definitely better than soloing with meleeprayer, though. My max amount of kills with meleeprayer was 5 when being on slayer task and 3 or 4 when not. Feel free to add it to guide, I'd appreciate some credits though ;)
January 10, 201016 yr Author Just updated guide with the newer way to tank zamorak. Kept the first method in it though for people under 95 prayer and 88 summoning. Also changed the duo/trio section of zamorak to just method two (the newer way to tank zamorak) so higher requirements for it now of course. Also added a couple tips: soul split info and a note about extremes/overloads Thanks again Cantristenon
February 13, 201016 yr Since the release of the new weapon, the Staff Of Light, a pro special attack has been released with it.Its special attack reduces all melee attacks by 50% for a minute.Could possibly be used for the 95 prayer + 88 summoning method of tanking at Zammy to reduce hp lose Off, is the general direction I wish you would [bleep].http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/p549/hihi244442/TLoUGIF.gif[hide=My perception of the Admins in Assistclan:][/hide][hide=Drops]Slayer: Lots of Dragon Boots, 16 Whips, 24 Dark Bows, 7 Staves of Light, OVER 9000 CharmsGWD:Bandos: Lost countZamorak: ^^^^^Saradomin: ^^^^^^^^^^^Armadyl: None[/hide]

All I've heard about it and godwars are just assumptions I've never actually heard anyone talk about it that's actually tried it there. I haven't been getting on runescape lately so I can't(not like I have money to buy one anyway).
February 15, 201016 yr standard guide, nothing ground breaking...but reliable atleast. I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come
February 17, 201016 yr Author standard guide, nothing ground breaking...but reliable atleast.I know, unless staff of light actually turns out to be good for zamorak, there are no ground breaking things in it. I was actually considering just making this into a zamorak tanking guide since almost everyone knows how to tank bandos and it's so easy it requires next to no skill. But zamorak actually requires some skill and a lot of people don't know much about good ways to tank him. Besides there is already a guide out there for bandos but no zamorak tanking guide. Should I do that? Of course I would save the bandos section somewhere just in case I need it again.
February 17, 201016 yr just leave bandos, theres no reason to delete it. February 18, 201016 yr Author just leave bandos, theres no reason to delete it.True but there's also no reason to have it in the first place. And I think this guide is really only useful for zamorak tbh everyone knows how to tank bandos.
April 7, 201016 yr Nice guide :) about the minions at ZGWD, I duo there very often and I found out that whoever gets the final hit on K'ril is piled by minions.Just something I thought you might wanna include :<3: Dragon Riding Cult Leader?
