Slayer Points/Saradomin Sword

Featured Replies

Just wondering 2 quick questions.

1. I have 300 slayer points to spend and i was wondering if i should go ahead and buy the ability to make broad bolts/arrows or should i wait and use my points for something else later on?(please dont tell me to block tasks because i already have 4 blocked atm)

P.S i have already got the ability to make the Slayer Rings and the Slayer helm.

2. Is the saradomin sword worth buying for training str even though it's currently 10.1m ,and do you think it will be dropping back to around 8-9m anytime soon?

(I have the spare cash atm so i will not be selling any of my current armor/weapons)

Save like 100 or so extra for skipping bad tasks. Then get the ability.

i normally dont cancel tasks hardly ever unless im just in a really bad mood of course. I have the ones i dont like the most(Steel Dragons,Kalphites,Hellhounds, and soon to be Aquantites) blocked.

Personally, I bought the fletching ability just to say I could. It's pretty useless, however, if you plan on never utilizing it. I would say spend them on slayer dart runes.

Well the main reason i was thinking about getting the ability is because i like to go to aviansies and with the price of broad bolts i would make a little more profit if i actually made my own using unf bolts and feathers.

300 points will only get you around ~850k in runes, so unless you desperately need the cash, you might as well just buy the ability.

Especially considering the money you can save my making your own broad bolts, it's worth it.

well im not really desperate for the money but it would be nice. Can anyone give me any advice for the Saradomin sword question.

Regarding the broad bolts, do it if you either rangeslay alot and dont want to pay extra for bolts or want the fletching xp. Otherwise, the slayer dart runes sell for a pretty penny.

(I just went ahead and bought all the rewards for the sake of completion.)

I feel lucky having bought my sara sword when they were at 5.6mil,

yet i really dont use it all that much.

However, for some tasks (gargoyles, waterfiends) the ss makes a good difference,

and there's always plenty of ppl wanting to borrow it,

so if you have the spare cash and you slay alot, i'd get one.

I wouldnt worry about the possible price fluctuations too much -

the use or ownership of the sword will easily cover any price drops.

yea ill definantly look into the sara sword now, even if i bought it right now it wouldnt come close to breaking me as i have 14m and all the slayer gear i ever use anyways lol.

Consider that unlocking broad fletching allows you to buy 3k tips daily, which you can GE for 100k profit a day. Once you have a buffer of points for cancelling, buy the ability.

After that spend your points on runes.

You do not need to buy the ability to buy the unfinished bolts or arrows.

1 unfinish broad bolt is 98 gp med. Adding a feather bumps the price up to 133 med. Thats a good 34 more gp. You can make even more after making the broad tipped bolts instead of just selling them unfinished. You also get some flecthing exp, and if you need bolts you not more then a minute or so from 1k. After you decide to buy it or not, just spend all the points on the runes. That 10k for 400 points isn't worth it.

As for the SS i think its worth it. But i also have spare cash. If you like you can spend the money and buy one now. Or just stick with the D Scim to train str.

As for the bolts/arrows question: no id. I just unlocked it so I would have it unlocked and didn't make one broad arrow/bolt so far so idk.

The sword is something I never even thought about getting.

I'm getting my att, str & def to 91 now to then keep meleeing with whip on "lash" that way I raise the three evenly and don't need to work with d scim whatever :)

Do NOT buy the ability. You can buy 3k bolts daily from Shilo, 1k feathers daily from the fishing store there, 1k feathers daily from the fishing guild, and 1k feathers daily from Port Sarim.

The maximum price of unfinished broad bolts at the store is 65gp. Feathers are 7gp max.

3,000 x 65 = 195,000

3,000 x 7 = 21,000

Cost of buying: 216,000

Currently, broad-tipped bolts sell for 133gp each, which is rather low. They are usually in the high 130 to low 140s. I believe the price ceiling is 150gp.

3,000 x 133 = 399,000

If you decide not to fletch them, unfinished broad bolts sell for 97gp each, and feathers sell for 15gp each.

3,000 x 97 = 291,000

3,000 x 16 = 48,000

Revenue for not fletching: 339,000

Profit from fletching: 183,000

Profit from not fletching: 123,000

Now, you may think that an extra 60,000gp per day is worth it, but it takes a great deal of effort to actually fletch them. 10 are fletched at a time, and two clicks are used. Fletching only gives 3 experience per bolt.

First off, not sure why you're using the highest price, since the average price for all 3000 is actually more like 57 each.

Second, you can fletch broad bolts while doing other activities and not lose any time at all. You can bring them while thieving and fletch while stunned. You can fletch them as you run around an agility course. You can even fletch them in between attacks during your slayer tasks and not lose any speed (except for the three inventory spaces). Effectively, the time spent fletching them is very near zero. With that in mind, it's absolutely worth it to fletch them.
