Yet Another Bursting Question

Darkvengence

Recommended Posts

I've asked related questions before but I finally got another solo Armadyl hilt last night so that leaves me more than enough money to do Rock Lobsters to 99 Mage and 99 Summoning without having to sell anything and have a good amount left over, so I'm going to start on this probably within a few days or next week.

I have several different questions and I put each of them into hide tabs just because it's a little more neat and organized.

[hide=Equipment and Inventory]

So here's my gear I plan on using, I already have all of these things from before so cost of the items doesn't matter, if there's something I should swap please say so.

211wkuu.jpg

Just a few notes about my equipment.

-I do not have access to the Imbued rings

-I do not want to get a seers ring (I just don't see the point)

-I do not own a SGS currently and do not plan to get one soon

-I'm not sure if I should bring prayer gear for luring, if so what should I bring

====

Inventory, well I have no clue what to take at all, so if you could cover everything I need that would be nice.

Also I do not have extreme magic potions.

[/hide]

[hide=Spot]

I've seen people say that the spot at the U bend (I believe people refer to this as the "9 lob" spot?) is the best, but I would just like some verification on that.

Also if above mentioned spot is the one I should use I have also heard the RT5 update complicated something with the spot, not sure what I just remember someone saying that a long time ago.

[/hide]

[hide=Statistics]

-What is the exp/hour for Bursting AND Barraging

-The average casts/hour is roughly 600?

Here's my current mage exp; 3,677,908

Using Andy's AoW guide and some quick math I got that I needed..

-23.5k Bursts to 94 Magic

-21.2k Barrages to 99 Magic

Basically I just want to know if above numbers are approximately correct.

[/hide]

That's all that I can think of at 2AM, I might come with some more questions later on.

Change these:

-Farseer to a mitre

-Infinity boots to lightness

-Master wand to ancient (You only need +70 mage attack to cause decent damage)

About the inventory, most people bring proselyte to lure (some people lure the first 3 or 4 in ahrims but that's risky just to save 2 invent spots) then switch back to ahrims when they start maging. Bring a chunk of spells 2k+ is usually best, and do not forget runes for blood burst or blood barrage, and the rest p pots.

I haven't tried to 9 spot since the new game engine came in so if your unsure, bring a small amount of runes for your first trip till you get used to it.

Can't answer the xp stuff because i did it ages ago, and quite frankly i have no memory of it.

This is for SMOKE BARRAGE and prior to the autocasting update, meaning no Extreme Mage pots or the damage bonus of the master wand. So expect better results than below.

114k magic xp/hr

59.5k hp xp/hr

513 casts/hr

6 blue/hr

40 green/hr

163 crim/hr

96 gold/hr

1.45 ppots/hr = ~6 doses/hr

1 cast = 222 magic xp

1 cast = 115 hp xp

1 blue = 85.5 casts

1 green = 12.825 casts

1 crim = 3.15 casts

1 gold = 5.34 casts

This is what I'm using, and don't listen to Ermin66, the higher the bonus, the better. The wand also increases the exp/cast, which means less casts for 94. This money saved is the same amount if you used a water staff (not sure why he said ancient). So it is the same exp for less casts, less money, and less time. USE THE LADDER SPOT. DON'T use the bottom of the U bend, because the lobsters spawn before you've killed them all, and you take damage. You also don't need that big of a prayer bonus, so take the farseer, not a mitre. You will never fall bellow 50% run energy, every. Use infinity boots.

I would have answered, but there have been a lot of bursting threads lately and I figured you would be able to find them and get some data from those. I think I even answered one of your bursting threads with calculations, and I included much of the data you are asking for now in this thread.

Also, you even quoted some data from andy's guide in the OP, and he honestly knows more about bursting than we in h&a do.

Yes I used some data from Andy's guide, I asked if the numbers I got from it were approximately right.

What if we would have said no they're totally off, would you have believed it? The data I used in that post in your extreme magic thread matches Andy's.

When I bursted, I used 9 lob spot at the U-bend. I did 575 casts an hour which got me 105k mage xp and around 50k hp xp an hour. Also around 145 crimsons an hour. I used boots of lightness and a verac skirt for luring. You dont need to bring proselyte tbh. I dont really get how summoned skull keeps his energy full with all that heavy equipment, I guess he does less spells per hour or something.

Inventories etc are already covered. I'm not sure about the mage bonus thing. I've heard opposite things all the time. I would personally go for a mix of prayer, lightness and magic bonus, being mitre, ahrims, boots of lightness, zammy book and master wand.

It's Sumonedskull6, and because I'm not stupid, I don't use the bottom of the U. All that does is cause problems, the ladder spot is much better, saves energy, and I still get 550+ casts/hour. Magic boost ALWAYS effects EVERYTHING, but for some things like this, it's almost too small to notice, but it DOES make a difference nonetheless.

Whatever floats ones boat. I believe that both spots are good and it's just a matter of personal preferance. I disagree with bedman discouraging the use of prossy armour. With the new run update, it is definitely possible to maintain enough run energy for luring despite carrying such a heavy gear.

I found that it costs more to forget switching back from proselyte to ahrims than it costs to use a few more extra ppoints :P

I've got a outfit which is a bit mix and match, but its got 79 magic attack and 23 prayer bonus so prossy isn't too helpful if your willing to have a slightly lower magic bonus.

I personally use the corner spot as long as you know how to trap the dagannoths with the light you have no trouble.
