Why does Jagex never anticipate the repercussions that their updates have?

I mean, take the no prot item prayer update - granted, I didn't care much about that one, but still. After IMMENSE ranting from parts of the community, Jagex released +1 BH worlds.

And now the 26k update. Whenever I DM someone in PvP (and yes, some people actually have honor) and finish them off with a low hit; e.g. killed someone with a 12 because their food ran out, I get vambs for my drop. Wtf is this.

Repercussions hurf durf.

The no prot item worlds was due to player feedback with rampant 1-itemers. It was due to counter feedback that they decided enough people still wanted it to put in a few worlds.

As for the 26k update, that's because getting a kill isn't guaranteed phr33 mill g33p33s.

These updates aren't Jagex "Not knowing what they're doing." And frankly, a teen with no business experience can hardly shake the stick of knowledge at the UK developer of the year.

What update doesn't have repercussions? Do you think Jagex didn't carefully think out their updates? They're not an amateur game developing company, for god's sake.

So just because airports cause a lot of inconvenience for normal passengers because of terrorists they should be at blame? The terrorists are the one that should be blamed for inconveniencing millions of ordinary people. Same for Jagex. Why should they be blamed for 26kers? It's not THEIR fault players chose to abuse the PvP system, causing them to have to put in an update to combat 26kers. If you really must blame someone, blame the 26kers, not Jagex.

So, in addition to testing each bit of content on multiple different operating systems with many different specs, running 3-4 different versions of the game, making sure that this bit doesn't interact with thousands of other pieces of existing content in an adverse way, you want them to guarantee that the new piece of content won't affect existing game play in any adverse way?

Give me a break.

If you want to talk about repercussions and trying to fix them, frankly releasing items that are straight GP drops into PVP was one of the biggest bonehead, [wagon] moves in the games history. Now they're doing everything they can to fix it, minus something to actually solve it, like removing them.

About the no protect items update, it was due to 1-itemers. I don't know why people dislike them though.

Not sure about what update you are talking about for the 26k one, but you're not always guaranteed a good drop.

The only way to fix the inflation problem is to increase the risking amount, so less people would actually want to do it.

All I can conclude is that agingmiser was one of those 26k-ing noobs who now can't make proper money because they fail. JaGex had to fix it, so they did. That's a GOOD thing.

This is questionable. How many people play Runescape?

But Jagex aren't thick in the head. Pking should never have been so profitable, and frankly it shouldn't be as profitable as it is now. It is meant to be fun, not a grinding, moneymaking chore that you have to do so you can stay alive during the inflation (which 26Kers are causing slightly).
