It will work by making war something unwanted by making random occurances and global warming into the enemy. Expansion will too be encuraged as the solar system, and possibly the entire galaxy lies at your hands, if you can reach it that is. I would prefer not to be the sole mod, but I will work out most of it. It will start in year 2050, and each one of you will get 40 years' worth of research at your disposal as well as any invention or similiar which you can find evidence of currently existing. Techs might get extended research requirements, other techs that must be researched first or they may get full out denials. Here's how income could be easiley calculated:Population: [population] Avg. Income] Tax: [tax %] Tax income: [=]A2*A5*A8 Other incomes: [=]A2*10 Income: [=]A14+A11 Expensabillity factor: 0.1 Expendables: [=]A17*A20 Just insert that into excel, replace the brackets, add around five percent to population each day and post (in hide tags). And punching numbers won't be the game, only a way to keep the budget but allow for players to be an active part of it as well as add things themselves. I haven't actually been explained as to what IEG is but I have a hunch its a bit like the IAG system of the last hegemony, if any system is to be used it must be able to be worked out by a player in about thirty seconds otherwise people just won't stand for it, I know I wouldn't. Example:America, in one decade with Mather's system, would go from 13 t -25tJapan would go from 5->9.8And then poorer countries, I'll use myself as an example since I know my gdp off hand, would gain very little, I would get up to 3 trillion. So in one decade, with Mather's system, Trol would have a 15 trillion lead on everyone else. The decade after, he'd have 50 trillion, whereas the next closest would have under 20.Basing it on per capita is stupid and will ruin the game. archimage_a Posted June 28, 2010 Author Share Posted June 28, 2010 Random idea, of course...Set in Space with an Advanced start...Everyone can design a race, send it to me and I will send them a balanced version or something. I would probably use a similar system to my Hegemony, so massive space fleets are less likely.Also there would be NPC races, peaceful annexation would be right out, but alliances and such would be possible. Conquering a planet would take a week or so of hard fighting...There will definately be some form of logistics, rather than the 'if you have money' rule from my last version. Though not a complex resource system that no one understands. Exploration and colonisation are, of course, possible, but would take a lot of resources, so, even though there will be a large space map, fighting each other will still be on the cards. It's like meat, it is the proper neurishement for us, though both vegitarism (feeding of animals in their case) and canibalism can sustain us. FTL is gonna be done through Matter Gates, though you can research other methods if you want.Matter Gates can transport you to a certain number of systems (With another matter gate) within a certain distance.Different gates have a different number of systems and a different max range...though no gate will take you everywhere.The technology to build the gates is a long way away from being developed and even early prototypes are 6 months away at least. Traveling along a Matter Gate is instant, but it takes time for your ship's core to recharge, so double jumping is difficult. Some systems aren't connected. During the Advanced Start you can survey any system you can see, and then colonise any habitable planets/stations/other. There will be more info on the gates later as I am working things out still. Desciption: A humanoid race of big-eyed amphibians, led by their glorious Queen, who happens to shed her body every few hundred years, thus retaining millenia of wisdom. The society is effectively in a caste system, where the intelligent females take up high paying professions while the males do the fighting and the hard labor. Of course this is not sexism, because of the extreme sexual dimorphism of the Lichten race. The males are stronger and mature more quickly. They are also more common. Roughly four out of every five Lichten eggs becomes male. All Lichtens have the ability to reproduce both sexually and asexually. Asexual reproduction is commonly used when a Lichten is near death and cannot reproduces, in a battle situation or when one is too old. They essentially commit suicide by jettisoning their organs into a new creature, which can survive long enough with the dying organs until it can grow its own. This has caused many Lichten armies to "re-emerge" after defeat, albeit weaker and less trained. Advantages - Lots of space in the seas to grow. Asexual reproduction. Plentiful manpower with no rebellious capabilities. Stratified caste system. Disadvantages - Cannot survive harsh terrain very well. Require lots of space for crops. 4/5ths of the population is stupid. Cannot build large structures out of water. Beliefs - Long live the Queen! Master of your domain? Side note, if someone was to grab an egg and grow another Queen, could that Queen compete for control, or should there just be some complicated enzyme system which can't be duplicated, and since all of the Formians are connected by group conscience it would be impossible for one of them to go independent...Though that raises questions on mind control...Perhaps this infinate telepathy is just a little too much.Thoughts? http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree.
