how can you get a abstract saved in good quality under 30 kb?? like what file type do you use so it stays good quality?

It's an abstract, just save it as jpg and then lower the quality abit, propably wouldn't even know the difference, the quality that is.

Why shoudlnt you save in JPG? My sig is in jpg and would be a much much larger filesize if in gif or png. Theres a time and a place for each file format. Animations best for gif, areas of block colour for png and pictures with lots and lots fo colours such as photos or abtracts best for jpg.

I personaly think you'r totaly wrong mate.

 

 

 

Pixels don't have to be saved as Jpgs since the compressions used in the algorythm create "fakes" in the picture (somehow close to adding some full AA, removing the pixel effect itself).

 

 

 

Abstracts, on the other hand, don't have to be saved on GIFs since Gifs only have 256 colors and all that's not the best range for an abstract.

 

 

 

Jpg is your only and final choice for most of the abstracts you want to use on these boards. Even with a 80% compression you don't notice big changes towards the original version, and you can still work on the compression ratio with 1% steps on PS so that you can fit the limits almost perfectly.

If you use photoshop you save as png and theres an option somewhere to ajust the colours. Just turn the colours down because that doesnt really make a difference.

Thats big bull poop, my jpg's are good quality. I use Photoshop CS2.

i always save in png, becoz its cleaver that way, well, to me it looks clearer, but sometimes, they are to big, i dont like saving in gif or jpg as sometimes, some of the things i make go all blurry afterwards, but as Mercifull wrote, there is a time and place for each file format....

you cant see it, but if you look good you can see theres a little color loss, but you cant see it that much so i wouldnt matter, anyway i always save as .PNG
