Training Herblore with Farmed Herbs

Recommended Posts

I've got about 1.5k irits, 400 avantoe, and quite a few other herbs from farming and collection over the past little while.

However, I've noticed that some herbs fetch a higher price than others on the GE. Should I dump one type of herb and buy another and make potions out of the cheaper herb?

That's exactly what I do, I farm the herb that would make the best profit per seed then sell the herbs and use the money to buy the supplies for whatever pot loses a low amount of gp/xp.

You should sell them and buy a cheaper herb to raise your level (Unless either of those are currently one of the cheapest I haven't checked that)

Frankly, I found it very quick/easy to train by making attack potions (irit with eye of newt). Eyes of newts only cost 3 gp from the store in Port Sarim, and there's a market for attack potions.

I always sell avatoes... Fish pots are quite useless if u don't fish alot and they don't sell.

So selling those and buying irits/harralanders is the best I think.

Why these? Because the second ingredients are soooo easy to get.

Just buy eyes of newt in the shop, or buy chocolate bars in the lumbridge castle cellar and grind them :)

Good luck :)

Just figure out which herb gives the best gp/xp

Just make sure it creates a potion with actual demand, like sara brews, super restore, prayer potion, that type of thing.

As usual, RuneWiki has a calculator designed for just that: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Potions

All I learned in life, I learned on Tip.it
