High Level Update

I don't think there is any set evidence of which skill will ge the high level update next. They are definitely bulking out a lot of skills though, such as fishing/cooking/mining, so my personal hunch is that they will add a PROPER Woodcutting update this time around rather than offering some better alternatives to training. Along with this they can bulk out fletching. But thats only because I love woodcutting :XD:

They said in recent QAs etc next years "theme" (thought not official like "Update Year") is gonna be high level stuff basically.

 

We've had a fair bit load of tweaks and low level stuff this year with the odd high end thing.

Next year is intended to be tweaks still, but with high lvl updates (70+ and some 90+) with the odd low end thing

They mentioned in a Q&A that a high-level combat dungeon was in the works, I think. They also said that smithing was one of their higher priorities. Elemental Workshop 3 is in development currently (Chaos Elemental said so), so that could point towards smithing as well.

 

I don't have the source though...it'd be troublesome to dig through all that stuff.

 

EDIT: Forgot, Impetuous Impulses is being revamped, so there's another one for hunter, sort of.

Mod Benny: We have a big set of equipment planned that will have level requirements ranging all the way up to 99; however, these will only be available within restricted settings. Releasing more powerful weapons to the entire game would have big consequences for existing content (especially PvP, as you’ve already pointed out), so we need to have a good look at the whole of combat before we can take items to such powerful levels that they would make

current items obsolete.

Mod Mark: Yes. How they are linked to the game would say too much about what they will provide, though, so I can’t elaborate further than that.

Mod Mark: It’s full of unique challenges and boss fights. I read through one of the design briefs for the boss monsters and the death mechanic was very... different. Some of the biggest NPC hitpoint counts in the game will exist here.

Mod Fetzki: I am most looking forward to the Slayer update, which will bring a small, but nice, item with it. That said, I am really biased, since Slayer is among my favourite skills.

Oh boy. Doesn't look like I'll be playing much next year...

 

But, along with this, and based on previous events, i believe that more higher-level things will be coming out sometime soon.

Idk, there might be a high level slayer update. When it will be idk. But there is talk of someone appearing in the slayer tower named Kuradel. She goes and uses the Stat Spy spell and says "You'll be coming with me...". It seems like she is realated to Duradel some how, maybe a sister or mother or possibly even a daughter? there is a picture of her from Jagex's database. She appears to look like Duradel and has a slayer cape on.

I don't know if it's just me, but from the two skills you named in your first post, it sounds like you're trying to figure out the next update in order to stock up on affected items beforehand for personal profit. I hope that's not your intention, but I suppose it's inevitable that people will attempt to gain an advantage from future content prior to release.

 

In any case, these skills have received some sort of high level content in the past several months.

 

Agility

Fishing

Herblore

Mining

Prayer

Thieving

Woodcutting

 

In my opinion, Firemaking, Hunter, Runecrafting, and Smithing are all good candidates for an upgrade.

actually, these are the skills that've been improved:

 

1) agility - new courses

2) fishing - living cave rocks

3) mining - same

4) wc - ivies, special logs and new wc minigame

5) herby - extreme pots

6) mage - surge spells

7) rc - more multiple runes

8) prayer - new course prayers

9) firemaking - infernal adze (might count and might not count in their new theme)

 

so, it's 8 or 9 includ firemaking out of the 24 skills. oh wait in next year it's gonna be 25 skills :razz:

 

highly likeable skills to get update:

 

1) slayer - should be by the end of the year AKA this month

2) hunter - planned to update implings, with making it better to train on them, and might be new impling beyond d imp - no idea when it's coming out

3) smithing - Mr. gower's most wanted skill to get update...so it'll come, but nobody knows when.

 

that's it basicly. good luck guessing the next skill.
