Hey tipiters, my name is daff, ruggig_sthlm ingame.

Im considering getting 99 fm while im going f2p, but i dont have that much money in rs to get yews.

Maples or willows? The pricedifference is not alot but the time is alot.

Where should i firemake?

At the moment i got around 4 mil in cash, and 3 mil in items.

Should i sell everything and spend every penny on logs?

Thankful for all the tips, i did not find any _GOOD_ guide so if someone could guide me through it fast it would be great.

The best place to fm ive found is FoG lobby. enough rows for 3 people to consistantly fm. Maples are infinitely better then willows, willows shouldnt even be considered an option. The GE is good if you can fm both directions but its very laggy and annoying so i found it a hassle. You can do like 1400 logs on a good hour at FoG.

He said he's considering going F2P. But I suppose you have a valid point either way. Do Yews if you make over 1.15m an hour.

The basic logs (normal, oak, willow, maple, yew) go up by 1.5x exp each. So maples will be 1.5 times faster then willows so you will save ~30 hours by burning maples rather then willows.

You currently need ~94k maple logs to get 99. At an average price of 30 gp per log thats ~2.8M. So no, you don't have to sell anything in order to get 99.

Until 90, I burned mostly in Edgeville, it was empty well over 90% of the time and averaged ~1000 logs per hour (with talking to friends). Then from 90-99 I used Varrok teleport, run into the middle of the fountain and just burn west to the bank. There I could average ~1300 logs per hour with talking.

 

TAKE LOTS OF BREAKS! You said that you could get it within a week, that averages to like 9 hours per day. No one should be playing that much, that many days in a row. I know I am out of line saying this but that is very unhealthy to stare at a computer screen for 9 hours a day (and you have to be looking the whole time because it is so click intensive).

Actually, willow was pretty good when they are 12gp each, before GE came out. That's during the time when people just dump massive amount of willows in the general store. And you can FM right beside it, I used to FM near the Rimmington Store or Lumbridge store. For now, maple probably makes more sense, and many places you can fm would be GE, or Edgeville bank (quieter). When you fm, turn off your private chat would also helps if you don't want distraction. If you are really dedicated, burning 1k log or close to per hour is very possible.

 

I would know, since I burned about 100k willows before all the GE conveniences came out.....massive finger cramps trying to burn 1.1mil xp in one day.

Maples, Grand Exchange. Since you have 4M you shouldn't do willows.

 

Place the tinderbox in the MIDDLE of the inventory, and the blank 27 spots should be maple logs.

 

Do it on the east side of the Grand Exchange. Start from the west edge of the tree. When you finish lighting your 27 logs you should be right next to the bank.

If your still P2P don't forget the firemaking gloves and ring those small %'s will add up massively in the log run.
