Why no patch notes for The Great Orb Project?

You can no longer perform certain emotes while in the runecrafting guild lobby. This is to prevent the six - orb glitch, which if you're not familiar with, you can find it detailed in several places, including the bugs and suggestions forum.

 

I've ranted many times as to how buggy GOP is, and it seems they finally did something (albeit small, and one specific issue). Why haven't I seen it in the patch notes for the past few updates (the update was put in effect about 2 weeks ago)?

Could it be that they're overhauling GOP (I'm getting my hopes up), or the fact that the fix is a temporary fix, and that they don't want it to be the permanent solution?

 

Or, could it be that I missed it in the patch notes? Someone help me out?

As for when it was fixed, Pin told me that the system update for the Temple of Senntisten fixed it. So it should be in the Patch Notes for 12/3/09.

 

As for why it was not in the patch notes, I have no idea. A few of us checked the patch notes multiple times after it became apparent to the GOP community that the glitch was fixed, but for some reason it elluded Jagex's "List of bugs fixed for the Patch Notes".

 

Edit: On a side note, I haven't seen any Patch Notes for the F2P quest reward/graphic updates.

Just my theory, don't take my word for law.

 

As you said, the fix was a little.. quick and vague, not a very serious fix. If they never mentioned it in the patch notes, they probably don't want players to test the 'fixed' glitch.

 

Why, you ask me? Probably because the glitch it still exploitable if done in a different way on known to them and them only.

Or perhaps the "fix" is actually caused by another bug in an unrelated area of the code. Seen this happen in programs before.

I guess this was unintentional, since it wasn't mentioned in the patch notes.

 

Or did the minigame used to prevent you from doing emotes?

There are hidden updates in RS all the time. In fact there is a sticky completely dedicated to them on here. You should post it on there telling them to add it to that sticky.

I wouldn't call this a hidden update, more like a patch.

What I want to know is if Jagex is overhauling gop, and this was a temporary fix until they implement the new system.

 

I can only get my hopes up.
