Dream Mentor

Recommended Posts

I went in first time, with a pretty much full invent of monks, Tz's (iyis now) encouragement and a setup of - neitz, karils, d boots, whip, dfs, and fire cape..... came out of there on the untouchable with 21HP xD

So i have some questions:

A. What is the best set up for it? The Inadequacy was whacking off 16's and 15's constantly and then the everlasting was hitting 24's.

B. Should I take me a super set in?

C. Would rocktails be a worthwile quick investment to try and help me here?

D. Any good tactics for attacking these monsters?

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks

Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.

Lets see, I had 70 defense, saradomin sword, and rune when I did dream mentor.. I'd say just bring some barrows armour, a super set, a dragon dagger (special attacks), and some monkfish or sharks..

Good luck!

Hi if you're reading this you are amazing and I love you.

Maybe they'll release a bugless update for April Fools. That'd sure be a joke

  • 2 weeks later...

I am going to try an reuse this topic instead of making a new one.

Stats:

92 combat

Attack,Strength,Mage,Range are all 70.

I have 67 defense.

My best Malee armor is full rune.

I also have Full black d'hide.

My best weapons are: Dragon long, The Big anchor from the one quest and rune crossbow with rune bolts.

Do I stand a chance at defeating these bosses? Will a one click teleport get me out of there? Does the ring of life work?

I was going to use range but the guides say use malee. What is my best chance.

If I only have a slim chance of surviving what do I need to increase my odds? Get 70 defense? Spend more than I have on armor?

I have super sets if I go the malee course.

I was in your shoes when I did this quest and I failed many times. No, you can't teleport out by any means other than clicking on the lectern in the dream world, so be very aware of that fact vs. your remaining hitpoints. Ring of Life is never a 100% fix and I am not sure it will work in this fight so I would not rely on it at all.

I think you can do it if you drink a set of super attack/strength/defense potions before going in (then bank them and withdraw 3 more food items) and take tuna potatoes for food. If you can get your hands on a whip, do it. I found the first fight to be the most difficult, so if you can get through that one you might be well on your way to finishing.

In short use the best armour, food and weapons you can possibly use while remembering to watch your hp and abort the attempt if things are going wrong.

Good luck!

That doesn't make me feel much better. Yes I will barrow a whip. I will aslo have sharks as food. Its what I have. It sounds like ranging is out. :(

Super sets are ready.

Only thing in my inventory will be tinderbox and food. I will also be using an amulet of glory with god cape. Its the best I have.

On second thought I think i will work on my defense.

I would suggest an obby cape instead of a god cape, or legends if you don't have one, since as far as I recall it only uses magic if you're not in melee distance. My levels and setup were worse than yours when I did this quest and I barely made it through, so you should be able to do it. I did use tuna potatoes instead of sharks, though.

OMG I have been using a zamorak cape forever now because somewhere I got in my head it was better than legends. Well that will help. I think I will give it a try.

I failed! Couldn't get past the first boss. (I even had a whip)I watch the videos and those safe spots don't help with the first one. I also see that everyone was ranging. I was told by somone else that ranging them all was easy (Less difficult) at level 70.

I think I am going to give it a try. It just seems like if I had dhide on letting him mage me instead of malee would be better. perhaps not.

omg it was so much easier to kill the first boss with range setup. Here is what I had.

My Combat level is 93 with 71 hp

Armor:

Black dbody

Black dlegs

Black dvambraces

Rune Boot

Rune Kite shield

Legends Cape

Helm of Neitiznot << free from other quest

Wepaon:

Rune Cross bow

Runite bolts

Potion:

Super Defense

Food:

Sharks

Other:

Ammy of Glory

I used half my food inventory. It wasn't to difficult at all. Just make sure you have about 100 arrows so you don't need to pick them up.

That. that's what I used, except I had broad bolts and archer helmet. Stand beside the lectern and the things can't attack you.

Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.

Congrats! And thank you for posting back about what worked. Wish I had known this myself.
