Bandos: To Solo or not to Solo?

Featured Replies

I've been thinking about soloing Bandos recently. I never really soloed any bosses other then the KBD and Giant Mole(Although i would hardly consider them bosses). And have only been to 2 bandos masses. Although i read Toast's guide in the AoW and it seems pretty straight forward. I know i have the stats(90 atk, str, def, range, mage, 75 prayer, 93 hp) And would have enough cash to buy decent equiptment:

Nezzy helm

Torags/dh plate

Torags/dh legs

climbing boots(I most likely would switch to dragon after i'm confident enough)

Barrows gloves

zammy cape

Fury Ammy

RoL(I would switch to RoW after a few solos)

Bandos Godsword

(If i do decide to solo, i have bandos plate and tassets. Since the guide i read told me i should focus on range def, should i go with my bandos instead? It would add a little more str, prayer, and range def.)

Right now i'm sure most people would say "Yeah, go for it!" but there is one little hitch...

I play on a computer from the 90s. And my internet isn't that good ether. It's easy for me to get alot of lag and die. Although with this setup, i would only lose about 250k if i did happen to die. And safety is only a click away(<3 home tele tabs).

So, yet again i turn to my trusty tif friends.

To solo, or not to solo?

(Sorry for any miss-spellings. Due to a problem with Firefox, i am unable to log into tif on it... I have to use IE which doesn't have a spell checker)

Do you think you will have fun trying to solo? Someone will probably come by and say no, but if you have fun why not? Thats what RS is for after all right?

I agree with glass. I don't solo bandos much due to it not really being much hope unless you get really lucky I prefer to camp there longer with a duo or trio team. I like daggonoth kings, or armadyl godwars boss better than bandos though. It's personal preference though, if you think you'll have fun soloing I see you getting 2 kills 3 tops per run.

Whatever you do, don't forget to bring a War Tort with food to help you stay longer.

I hear you about the computer thing though, I have dialup and can get kicked off at any moment. I don't normally lag though. But if you want to have fun with it, then go ahead.

If you have bad connection, I wouldn't really recommend going just because you can lose 50+ hp in one round and you might die if you lag when that happens.

But I mean, if its fun, by all means go. I find soloing much more exciting than duo or trio or masses. Unless of course I'm there with friends. That beats anything:P

Bandos really does help, and you wouldnt lose it if you died anyhow, for your 1st you might wishto bring a friend along to bless you if you do die, although it isnt realy needed. Good luck and have fun.

I've personally always hated bandos, and preferred solo arma. Personal preference really.

I've always considered a duo or trio better in every way than solo, if you can find reliable people (Do it with friends rather than random RSOF people). A duo more than doubles the time you spend there which is really useful for gp/hr since it takes a while to withdraw consumables/run to gw/get kill count.

Neither would I recommend doing this solo with a connection and computer that are almost 100% reliable, it's pretty much impossible to get back in time without a blessed grave. When TD's came out I decided to solo them, despite having a bad connection at the time. I lost 3 karil tops and heaps of other valuable stuff by the end of the month because I kept on going back hoping for a drop that would pay for it all :-|
