i was just wondering whether the stab bonus of the zamorakian spear would be worth using over whip/defender against cave horrors. thanks :)

No and I wasn't aware Cave Horrors were weak to stab - I normally safespot ranged them. :P

The wiki can be wrong when it comes to weaknesses, it said the Bandos boss had a weakness to magic attacks until I changed it. :P Anything would probably work well against Cave Horrors as they have low defence against anything (if I was killing them I'd use whip).

im using the spear now, it appears to work just as well, anything does at maxed combat i suppose. besides, it looks cool as fuuuuu.

that may be, but the defender also lowers magic defence which is critical in a confrontation with a cave horror

The slight subtraction of magic defence of Rune Defender won't make much of a difference overall.

 

Whip + Defender > Zamorakian Spear in most cases.

Even with it, if your attack is anywhere near decent it shouldn't matter. Only consider these weaknesses once you get to higher leveled monsters.

3 things

 

1) you're maxxed, so [bleep] the zs the whip is way better.

 

2) Zs for wfs is for the crush option.

 

3) No, no one is thinking about stab weakness, because you're maxxed. Don't be scared of them.

Waterfiends have like +999 to all other defence stats except crush which is like +1

But cave horrors are amazingly weak to anything so just use whip + defender

Just have a test trip with whip and you'll never doubt me or anyone above again

if your that concerned about it, i'd reccomend a leaf bladed sword and rune defender..

Zamorakian Spear > LBS + Defender.
