If she fails, then it probaly will rip the spike out of her shoulder, thus getting her out of the debacle. If she stands up but can't get it off, then she tries to cut the spike with her knife. He asks if he could have a place to stay while his wings recover, and then he'll come back to get his other equipment later. (I can tell what's going to happen now, the stuff is going to be moved by the time I get back, preventing me from getting it again, and leading me to having to invade a town or something.
