did i roll high? i look to see if i have all ym stuff, if there are any enemies nearby, and if i can get out of the area.

Grim again attempts to communicate with the staff after running some more light magic through it.

The ogres explode in a flash of bright blue flame, incinerated before your very eyes. The metal seems quite a ways away, and doesn't come along.

You check and confirm you have all your things. There seems to be nothing nearby. You see the cave extend further, probaly to some sort of exit.

 

-Grim

 

The staff remains exactly the same, and does not respond.

(grim, try fire) i go down the exit, on the way i try to make necro claws by channeling necromantic energy into the form of claws. (why dont my necro arrows reanimate anything when they kill them?...)

Igos tells the paladin, "A new quarter in the city has been constructed. Can you help organize the moving & establishment of the Caster residents?"

Grim scans the list of powerful mages in the area looking for a list of names that have not been crossed off. He then goes outside and attempts to create a shield of light.

I go up to the troll and remove my metal from it's corpse. I take several chunks of it's skin and muscle, freeze them with ice magic, put them in my bag, and fix my wings.

grim, you do realize that ive given you the most plausible answer to the staffs ability right? FIRE. its the only other magic you sre skilled at. (really skilled)

The necromantic energy is too hard to control at your level to make a solid object, and it fails. (At your level, you need to roll 15+ to hit a good shot, and a 15+ to reanimate a very weak creature.) You arrive outside the cave, and spot Rocco.

"Of course my liege."

 

The paladin hurries off to talk to his aides to get everything organized. Meanwhile, there have been ramblings from the citizens about how the great fire mage Grim has gone insane.

 

-Grim

 

The only mages you can see are the Lich, the protoLich, Jen's two sisters, and the transmog mage. You create a shield of light.

Before you enter, you notice the area is coated in a toxic fog. (Happened when you weren't here, so I'm giving you another chance to revise) There also seem to be powerful hyena-dog creatures picking apart the troll. However, you repair your wings.

EARTH. He tried that If I remember correctly. And it's not necessarily the answer just because it's his best element.

Igos asks the people about what has happened with Grim.

actually nex, he used light magic. also, okay retech. i train necro and acid by making balls of acid and necro, and throwing them in the air. i head down the mountain passage.

[Grim_]

Grim goes off in search of the ex proto lich. If he finds him he asks him if I can tell him what the properites of the objects he has (if the lich will not do it for free he offers the rope as payment)

[Earth]

grim.. fire?? geomancey? are you even paying attention to other peoples posts? (if you arent, then whatever. just wanted to know.)

(I have already tried fire and well... geomancy is a possibility I am going off of the whole "white light halo" bit )

"Oh, that crazy old coot. He probaly damaged himself in some crazy fire ritual. Grim's gone off talking with his magical items, as if there was something in them. Just some crappy ol' staff."

You pass out from the haze your acid creates.

 

-Grim

 

The Lich takes the items and begin examining them. His eyes open wide, before he blasts you out of the room with a powerful shockwave. You hear him in his cave, talking to himself.

 

"Oh, how lucky of me! I have found it! Now I shall raise creatures far more powerful than I have ever brought to being!"

[Earth]

grim, never trust a necromancer, specially if hes a litch, with powerfull necro artifacts. i try to wake up, and if i do, i try to figure out a more safe way to train acid.

Igos goes to the paladin and asks what forces are under his control.

[Grim_]

(If I have the other items [ie staff and boots]) I ask "exactly what do you have may I ask?" while charging a geomancy spell. If he responds negatively (attacks me) I bring down a massive pillar on him while distracting him with fireballs from my pendant. If he took the freaking staff I do the same but dodge by teleporting to grab the staff and other items back.

You manage to wake up. Finally you figure out that through the many encounters with toxic haze, you are especially succeptable to airborne toxins. Thinking to yourself, maybe throwing acid at your enemies might be a better way.

 

-Igos

 

The paladin replies that he has lost his paperwork, and guesses that you have all the forces you had before. (How many did you have?)

 

-Grim

 

(You have everything but the staff)

 

You charge a geomancy spell, while the Lich does not reply. He slams the staff against the ground, and raises his other hand high. Before you know it, you are force pushed out of the cave, where you land on your bottom. An eight foot tall skeletal knight looms over you. It appears to be wielding a massive sword roughly half its height.

[Grim_]

Now that is seriously unfair Grim mutters. He uses his geomancy spell to smash the lich after he hits the skeleton knight with a blast of highly compressed hellfire with aid from his battle staff.

[Earth]

i head to the litch that grim is fighting, while on the way i try to make a few mage quivers with special arrows in them (4 quivers, one with regular magic arrows, another with arrows that explode on impact with whatever magic it was made out of, another that sends out a haze of whatever magic it was made out of, and the last a combination of acid and necro arrows for living opponents.)

(I had about 20, but that was militia before Caster was destroyed. I never asked about the number for Caster's forces until now. Maybe PM Ross about it?)

(Didn't expect that wielding a tremendously powerful staff and handing it to a more powerful mage would be an issue?)

 

The Lich seems too deep into his lair to be hit, though you blast the knight with compressed hellfire. It stumbles back, but regenerates quickly. It begins ambling towards you, probaly reaching you next action.

You fail to make the magic quivers. Finally you arrive at the battle scene, where you notice the skeleton knight ambling towards Grim.

i ignore the fight, and head inside to the litch (im not pissing off the best necro trainer for me dude. and anyways, i wouldnt be any help. hes got a force magic staff) i ask him if he would like an asistant.
