The traditional magical education of the Delani mage-bards consists primarily of sound and resonance magic (Sanumancy), used for combat and entertainment, along with secondary studies of water magic (Hydromancy) as an artform and a method of combat, and a few light and fire cantrips for illusions, heating water, etc. The warriors of the Delani Clan are experts with the quarterstaff, and one's rank is represented by the craftsmanship of one's staff, along with the enchantments upon it. The staffs are often used as instruments, enchanted to produce sounds when spun or tapped in certain ways.

 

Unfortunately, the journey here has disrupted, if not destroyed, all of Nexaduro's enchantments and magical talents. His staff, however fancy, is just a piece of wood and metal now. And, though they have not been entirely forgotten, he is unable to access his former masteries of magic, combat, and music.

 

Unless of course the almighty moderators wouldn't object to that... =b

 

Anyways, this is what I want to learn. Any of you have suggestions about how to go about that once the new session starts?

Start off with practicising against inanimate objects (gain crafting xp if you make them too) and then work your way up to combat with actual living (sometimes) things.

Sounds interesting. I'd suggest that you learn magicks from someone who's experienced with them. You would want to talk with Kemios for Sound, Me for Water, and I think that the fire and light stuff could be relearned by yourself.

 

Basically attempt basic activities on the stuff you want to learn. For example, attempt to heat water, or fill a glass with water. Most of us started with basic spells against weak monsters, so maybe the moderators would let you find a weak dungeon that you could attempt, to get used to it.

 

Infact, I think that all the newbies should get a weak basic dungeon to learn on their feet, how to get started. It's like the starting dungeon we had.
