JaGeX: How much will you pay?

Well, as there is no str training option on the abyssal whip, I guess that is out of the question... Dragon scimitar and rune defender if you're on a budget.. I'm not sure how well obby sword+ berserker necklace will work on armored zombies - never tried.

Obby+zerker necklace is about the same as D scim+rune def and fury combo. Just stick to the d scim. Get a ss if you can, either buy or borrow when u can. Only way to train it with whip is if you have it on controlled, so if you please u can do it that way.

Wouldn't both of those option nagate the whole point of training at az's, namely the Salve (e)?

And to the OP: If you can afford it, get an SS, if that's out of your price range go with the d scim and rune defender

There are three sides to every story: There's one side, there's the other, and there's the truth.

Sara sword is the best weapon for strength training, but it kind of sucks to have to use it when you could be using a whip and defender for better damage. It's more efficient to train on controlled when you can use a whip, and just train strength when you have to use other weapons. (Turoths/kurasks, Dharok's, waterfiends, etc.) But if you're dead-set on strength training, get the Sara Sword. No point using anything less than the best, right? If you have to, sell your Tassets; the SS will have a greater effect on your training speed than the +2 strength +1 prayer, and you can just use a Verac's Skirt instead.

Dharoks, done properly, is the fastest way to get melee XP, period. I've done literally hundreds of hours of timed tests and nothing else comes close to doing as much damage.
