JoeDaStudd
Hi all, I tried TD's a few times and only ever made 1 kill in 3 trips (2 half kills the other times). Last night I fancied a change from the DK's and GWD so I tried again. To my surprise I managed 5 kills my first trip.I did another trip and lasted almost a full hour getting 6 kills (including banking and I didn't take boosting potions, don't ask me why). Now I've been using the south spot which is extremely good as long as you don't step back out of the corner piece.[hide]Lure show in this guide xxxxxxxxxxxxxx[][/hide] My current equipment is;void melee/range helmfuryvoid topvoid bottomsnake skin bootsvoid glovesava's accumulatorWealth/LifeSGS/Rune Cbow/Darklight200 diamond (e) bolts Inventory;1 ranging potion1 super attack1 super strength - opps there was a typo here.4 sara brews2 super restoresa bunch of uni scrollshouse teletabs6 sharks3 spaces for SGS/rune cbow, darklight and void melee/range helmsapphire lanternWith the rest prayer pots Prayer setup is:BerserkerDeflect xLeech defense (the effect is very noticeable after the second animation)Only using leech once I start attacking and only using deflect when any of the blocked ones roar or the TD I'm killing spawns. On the 3rd trip I outlasted 1 uni on supplies, but I never seem to be able to get the kill under 2 shields. 1. Worth swapping the sharks for rocktails?2. When they spawn I have to use range until they switch to protect range then use darklight right?3. Sounds stupid but holy water doesn't have the same effect as darklight on TD's does it?4. Given my magic is higher then my range would it be worthwhile switching range gear for CoG (double defense reduction)?5. Any other tips and tricks for a TD newbie? Cptbaker08
I never been to TDs, and idk when i will. But one thing though, how come no super strength potion in your inventory? Idk if its some super secret method, or it has to do with the brews or what lol. Or if you just forgot to put on the list. JoeDaStudd
Opps I typed super defense instead of super strength :wall: .I use the brews as a boost to defense every time I need to pot up (let my hp drop to 60 or so just before). Darkvengence
1. Worth swapping the sharks for rocktails? - Once you get used to switching prayers you should be able to do a whole trip with next to no food if you're using a unicorn the whole time, so no. Switching your prayer and not being hit once is more important than switching your weapon in my opinion. 2. When they spawn I have to use range until they switch to protect range then use darklight right? - Yes. 3. Sounds stupid but holy water doesn't have the same effect as darklight on TD's does it? - Don't know anything about this. 4. Given my magic is higher then my range would it be worthwhile switching range gear for CoG (double defense reduction)? - Don't know much about this either but I have heard that magic is not effective. 5. Any other tips and tricks for a TD newbie? - I haven't been to do TD's or even on RS in awhile so nothing is coming to mind.

I've TD fairly recently *yesterday* and have gotten good rewards *also yestserday* and here's what advice I can give you:1) I don't use food but have a unicorn and a single sara brew pot This can be done because of a couple of things, most importantly is switching protective prayers. If the TD is using mage and starts to spaz I automatically switch to range and vice versa, I find the melee isn't as deadly. Another thing that i noticed is that range seems to be the most accurate attack, I personally find it the deadliest.Other random advice that may not help is: switch weapons and attack before switching prayers to give +%. That extra one or two hits can mean an extra 100 or so damage before the shield gets put back up.
JoeDaStudd
I did another trip last night and noticed that I didn't use any of my food. I seem to only be taking the damage from the other TD's (if my TD is using range and another uses the magic area attack) and the odd melee attack.I'll reduce the food by half and increase the prayer potions as I seem to be using about 2 doses per kill, but I think thats mainly due to using the leech prayer. So I might switch to sap ranger as like you say its the range which hits more. Great advice guys, if anyone else has any more feel free to post. Darkvengence
I would continue to use leech defence instead of sap range, if you're fast enough with switching prayers you can avoid being hit at all more than half the time. I really can't explain this one well, I might get a picture of the spot if I have time to get on later. But if you mess around a bit there is a spot where you're out of range from other demon's rage attack, you said you were getting hit by that often. Use rocktails until you're good enough2. Yes3. Who cares, just use darklight since its so easy to hit them.4. Range is easier.5. Stay in the southwest safe spot. Remeber to keep your distance so he cant melee you. Bring a halberd until you feel comfortable enough to use godsword. Switch prayers quickly between mage and range. Not taht hard tbh. Use a healing familiar and you'll get 10 - 20 kills

Thanks in advance, Joe[*]4 sara brews[*]house teletabs [*]6 sharksI would ditch the above and grab more prayer potions. No point bringing a teletab when you're staying over 30 mins- lumbridge teleport (Level 1 one). Brews would distract you so much and you should be avoiding damage. Unicorn should be enough for your healing. 1. Worth swapping the sharks for rocktails? No, reason is above.4. Given my magic is higher then my range would it be worthwhile switching range gear for CoG (double defense reduction)? no but its open for discussion. Even a 99s everything guy like me don't use due to ithe amount of inventory used. 5. Any other tips and tricks for a TD newbie? Use d hally as mentioned by nmanitstinksn, watch hp and use quick keys (F1 for invy and F# for prayer) *uncertainy sorry* You can bring unicorn pouches that match your duration. Start doing 1 for about an hour then do 2 hours, upto 3. 2 is more manageable. Best bolts to use here, except for maybe Ruby (e).Accumulator Inventory: Rune C'Bow, DL, 11 Prayer Potions, 1 Super Restore (for Summoning points), 1 Unicorn (+1 outside), 125 Healing Aura Scrolls, 2 Pure Sets (Optional), Sapphire Lantern, House/Lumby Teli Tab, Sharks Use the north safe spot. It's very carefree, so learn how to use it. Hard to explain, so just watch someone lure it for a bit until you get the hang of it. 1.) Unicorn should heal you more than enough to deal with the damage, and you have SGS, so forget about brews/Rocktails. 2.) Yes3.) No4.) No5.) Use north spot, use piety/turmoil and pure sets if you want faster kills, and just practice a lot. TD's are very click-intensive, so you have to kill them a few times, and you'll be able to pull off 30+ kills no prob.
