Presumably, if I break enough of your arbitrary laundry list of rules, or dare to speak my mind too many times about the capricious and overzealous moderation here, you'll ban me from the forum. I'd really prefer not to do any of that, so please just deactivate the account. Thank you.

Is there any particular reason why Tipit doesn't deactivate or delete accounts? I thought it was law that you HAD to on request? That's why sites like Facebook have got into trouble in the past for retaining information after people have "closed" their accounts.

 

Edit Laikrob: Just wanted to reply to this. Facebook mainly contains personal information - Tip.It does not. We actually have quite strict rules about that, so it is a whole different matter. Also, Facebook has been in the grey area of privacy laws and sold people's "private" pictures (they are online, so anyone can see them anyway) and information to advertising companies and similar.
