Hey guys, basically ive been from runescape for years now, im level 120 and back in the day when i played it was around the time slayer skill was introduced.

I would like to know a few things that i need to that are the new items for combat and what people use, when i played barrows and abby whips were very popular,

another question, is their a wilderness still as i would know it how it was when i used to play, is their still duel arena and csatle wars?

just basically want to know what i need to get for my character to be optimal combat situation becuase i presume their are many things i will need.

The best thing to do would be to browse the news archives on the runescape homepage to get all the updates. As far as your specific questions: the wilderness has been "taken out", they replaced the ability to PK anywhere with Revenants who act as pker's who roam the wilderness. There are clan wars and bounty hunter that act as the wilderness in a way, although I've never actually been there since I'm not a pker.

There is still a duel arena and Castle Wars.

So there is no ability to fight player versus player in wilderness ?

whats the best weapons that are used these days and armour ?

The ability as such is still there but you can only pk on PVP/BH themed worlds now.

The whip is still generally the best for Attack and Defence training and the Saradomin Sword is a new option for Strength training.#

As for armours, barrows is still widely used but some people preffer Bandos armour for its Strength bonus at the cost of lower Defence bonuses.

Why can't the Big Bang be done by the hand of God?

It could have, but it is next to impossible because it also could have been caused by the flying spaghetti monster, or one of the other infinite number of deity possibilities.

Not in the wilderness other than Bounty Hunter and Clan Wars. However, if you go on a PVP world, you can pk almost anywhere (there are a few safespot exceptions, such as banks). Best weapons are the whip for attack and defense (although I prefer controlled) and Sara Sword for strength. Barrows is really good armor. If you don't need any of the set effects (need the guthan's healing, or the verac's hit through prayer, etc) then I'd mismatch pieces. I use Guthan's Torso (one of the torsos with the highest defense) and Verac's Skirt (high defense plus prayer bonus). If you're slaying, try for a Slayer Helm (need to do Smoking Kills quest) as the slayer helm acts like a Black Mask, Nose peg, Ear Muffs, and a Face Mask all in one (...I think that's it, but if there's any other special headgear for slayer tasks, it'd be included, I can't remember off the top of my head atm). Barrows Gloves are the best for gloves, and Dragon Boots. Rune Defender's still a top choice for the shield.

The wilderness is no PvP nowadays, it's full of revenants who are a pain to kill, and a pain to encounter.

Castle Wars still exists, and Bounty Hunter is introduced. There are some PvP servers, where you can get killed just outside a bank I thought.

The best armour? Well, so to say, there is a lot of discussion. Bandos chest is still good, but Barrows armour is underrated these days.

If you slayer now, you can earn points when you did the quest Smoking Kills. So you can learn to make a slayer helmet, wich has the benefits of the blackmask, but also has nosepeg, earmuffs and facemask in it, allong the spiny helmet. Pretty much the thing you need when you go serieous slayer.

I suggest looking through new, brows tip.it website, and browse the Help and Advice forum, so you can learn some things.

Further more, walk around RuneScape to see what's changed and what not. Do some new quests etc. Take your time.

First time you enter a PvP world, you should get a PvP worlds manual with some basic info

In another change to PvP Worlds, all players are skulled and protect item is not available.

If you wish to keep your most expensive item, there are Bounty hunter +1 worlds, where it acts as if protect item is in effect.

Drops are CALCULATED, not the kills items, though factors such as the value risked by you and your kill do come into it, as does another figure - Earning Potential - gained by being out of a safe zone (faster in a hot zone), so long as you have a minimum risk or 25k (F2P) or 75k (P2P) - noted items do not count!

Players would "safe hit" each other with a fun weapon to stay locked in single combat while gaining EP, or cast wind strikes in armour - this will no longer gain EP - higher spells will, or a bronze dagger,

Bounty hunter worlds have restricted locations - Wilderness, Edgeville, Grand exchange

If you kill your assigned bounty, there is a bonus to the drop.

Welcome back ...

You're getting some good advice here for combat.

I might add "infinity boots" are great when needing extra mage defense and the "fury amulet" and "onyx(e)" ring cannot be beat for overall fighting.

I am what I am! Acknowledging this is the beginning and my growth is yet to end!!
