Fishing: 90-99, how?

Featured Replies

I havent played in about 6 months..

I dont want to drop fish (Barb fishing).. so really looking for the all around most efficient spot.

I got to 90 off Monk fish, but I am hearing about Rocktails?

Dont I need a certain bait?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Do I have to farm the materials?

What is the best setup?

These are the things I am unsure about :(

Most people just buy the bait, so they don't waste time killing the monsters for it.

If you fish in w84, you won't need to worry about food, just bring good armor to reduce damage.

Bring granite lobster pouches (obelisk outside the cave), ee/sgs, best armour you have. Also look at guides to show you how to lure the rock things.

Bring any type of armor, really, for Rocktails. Your set up really DOESN'T matter as long as you are in w84. If you have an EE or SGS though, bring it. This way, if you find yourself fighting a Patriarch or just somehow taken a lot of damage, you don't need to worry about your hitpoints. Plus, unlike mining, it doesn't use up any extra space.

Rocktails are presumed to be very good, since you get a decent amount of experience (about 35-40k xp/hr) as well as decent profit, at about 2200-2300 each now. However, if you want speed, without dropping, then you might want to consider Shilo powerfishing.

And as lots of other people previously mentioned with Rocktails, using a Granite Lobster or Ibis to help speed things up, as well as fishing in w84 and wearing a bit of armor with preferably an Enhanced Excalibur to heal hp if you lose any. And buy your Living Minerals. Enjoy fishing!

Rocktails are not the super XP some would like to think they are, I am 99 fishing and at my level over several hours testing

I make the average a load (26) every fiften minutes which works out at 39,520k an hour.

I have had 44k XP in hour most, and as little as 29k XP in an hour.

Good for cash though I have made millions off of them : )

So there are other fishing methods for better more consistant XP per hour.....

So I would say if you want quite decent XP and great cash go for Rocktails, if you only want XP look elswhere.

Are there any other profitable faster xp's ? (such as Monkfish?)

Some people underrate Rocktails; I used them 92-99 and never regretted it. ;)

That's still only barely slower than fly fishing, which is almost no profit and probably won't get you over 45k xp/hr.

Heavy rod can get you into the 60 thousands per hour.

Really, please explain how and can it be kept up for more than an hour or even two, and have you actually done it ?
