The article clearly and heavily forefronts he was suspended for making the gun sign; but backgrounds to the point that you can completely miss it the fact he'd been warned before and it was upsetting other children. I don't know about you, but I certaintly wasn't extremely mature when I was 6. It's hard to say if repeatedly shouting at him will even drive the message home. Also, according to the paper(or whatever), the boy has never interacted with toy guns before, and is therefore unlikely to even know what the sign even means.

I never had a toy gun and I certainly knew the gun symbol from the age of about 4. It comes instinctively (in part) after having seen a gun. Also nowhere did it say he was yelled at to drive the message home. In line with modern parenting and teaching techiniques he would of probably been explained clamly and politely what was wrong with it and why. As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. When someone brings a gun in "with" intent to kill and doesn't get more than a slap on the wrist, you tend to loose your faith in humanity. If you choose your beliefs/lifestyle simply based on what your parents want, then you are a weak minded individual and are not even worthy of calling yourself a person.
