Whip+Defender or Z Spear

I just made myself some super antifires and i need to know which is better for metals and blacks or if there is a better weapon and is it the same for lower leveled dragons like blue and green?

 

Also is there any place where recover specials are useful?

I z-spear all dragons other than greens + babies. I'm on the fence about blues. not enough experience slaying them.

im tempted to say z-spears for blues @ kuradal's dungeon though.

 

recover specials take up alot of inventory space for rather marginal benefits, i would only consider using it in PVP where special attack is important or if I'm close to a bank.

Either way there is no situation i would use it.

I would say that the recover spec pots are useful for getting some healing with, such as using a sgs to heal with. Or even for faster kills with a dclaw/dds attack. But being only 71 herb though i don't really know much about it.

Yeah, I thought about that, and I might take some every other task or something, it's either that or just leaving them to rot.

 

Oh and could using full verac's on them be faster? (Irons, Steels, Blacks and Miths I mean)?

because according to the wiki, they are also weak to crush

I use whip+defender for blues and irons, and z spear for steels, mithrils, and blacks. On dragons with low defense the stab weakness isn't as apparent, so it's better to have the higher str bonus. On the others though it makes a big difference from what I've experienced.

I find that at my levels whip hits great on greens and blues. I would suggest z spear for metal dragons and blacks. Don't know about red dragons.

I got like 150 iron kills/h with zs, so I'd say it is better for all metal tasks (would be hard to top that with whip tbh), better for black dragons too and I guess it doesn't suck against blue drags either, since it's not that much worse than a whip anyway so even a small weakness against stab would make it equal to whip.

Black Dragons & all Metals use Zammy Spear. Whip works perfectly well on all the rest.

 

In terms on the Recover Special pot - like you I made a load of these on the way to getting Super Anti-Fires. I tend to use them when slaying Spiritual Mages, using SGS. On a task of 180 I use approx 10 doses of prayer pots & 12 doses of Recover Special. No problem taking them here are invent is empty apart from Prayer Pots & Extremes.

 

I also take a few when slaying Dark Beasts - any additional pray points is a bonus.

 

You've made them, can't trade them - so may as well use them :)
