Name change headaches

For 5 years i was stuck with a name i chose only because it seemed every other name i wanted or could possibly think of was taken. I picked a make do name only to regret it half way through my RS life ! Now, i finally have a name i really like, which i will stick with probably until my final day on RS. I just wish it wouldn't come up as a name change as this would have been my preffered name if it wasn't taken when i originally created the account. Instead i have to be known as I big drew I - originally known as kinpin6. I still have to log in with kinpin6 as the username, yet if you search kinpin6 up on RS highscores it will come up 'no such member'. Maybe that could be changed ?

 

I wish my name change was made permenant ! :(

 

Your name is still terrible. Get rid of the "hot pker" fad of surrounding your name with I's, it's old. I can assure you as an outside viewer, Kinpin6 is a less sucky name.

I didn't like this update.

 

it just confused me as i quit runescape for 6 months to come back and not know who mmy friends are.

i am happy with my ridiculous name and i can see why some ppl would want to change their's but cmonn its an important choice when creating an account, what to call it.

 

anyway i think they could make it a better sytem, that ugly green symbol next to the names doesn't do it for me :P but im yet to think of a solution :D

When I started, i had to put turnipsi as a name (inside joke). I had to add "2" on the end thought. Years later, I had quite a few ideas for name, but couldnt change it, but then came the name change... After the original, I changed names 3 times. First one was rather bad when I actually thought about it. Second was decent name, but looked horrible in chat. Third and final name was the ultimate combination for me. Not too known, close to my heart, Sounds awesome when said, and more importantly, it actually is a real name (not mine thought). Lt Jake Dunn was born, and was there to stay.

It's a good idea, but not in the amount it is now. I've played 9ish years too, so a few months breaks aren't uncommon. I can NEVER guess enough who the heck the people are. I recently came back from over a year's quit. I had to delete half my friend list because I don't have a clue who they are. Yes, I did change my name in the rush of "because I can", but I'm changing ti back ASAP, though right now it's almost the original Prof in S (Profins)

Aye, for several names it isn't hard to keep track of who's who, especially if you're on fairly frequently, but for those who have a mostly full and active FL, participate in several CC's, manage clan lists or do anything moderately social it is quite the pain to keep track.

 

I moderate the name changes and assist in the clan list for the clan I'm in and I really wish there was a better way to keep track of those who just have to change their name at every available time.

I may sound like a hypocrite(because I've changed my username) but I don't like the name change at all. Your RS name is something that sets you apart from everyone, the name that people in your clan or your friends have come to know you by, it just feels wrong to change it. I tried to keep part of my original username in my changed name though.
