tonguetamer3
95 Prayer and 84+ HerbloreMy Journey to GWD Amazingness (Hopefully) Page 7 for Real-life Video June 4th I made the switch to Dragon Bones for my Prayer training My Question to You: Chaotic Rapier or Chaotic Longsword? About Me: As I've looked at some of the blogs of people who have posted on this blog, I noticed many people begin by introducing themselves, so here goes :P I live in the northeastern United States and my name is Joe. I am 18 years old and I have played RuneScape on and off since late 2002 or early 2003. I don't remember exactly, but I do know I started in 5th grade and it was winter, which would be somewhere in that time period. I also like to play RTS games on the computer and I write text-based Death Match scripts, something those of you who use IRC may be familiar with. I like to play just about any sport with my friends, but football (the United States version, not soccer) and baseball are my favorites. I am a senior in high school this year and will be going to an engineering college (university) next year. I plan to major in mechanical engineering, mostly because I like designing and making things. I will try to continue playing RuneScape in college, but it will really depend on how much free time I have, and whether or not I have something better to do with it (not to say I don't enjoy spending some free time 'Scaping). In case you couldn't tell from my avatar, I love the video-game character Kirby. My favorite book series, and movie series for that matter, is The Lord of the Rings. I like alternative rock and metal (although I'll listen to most music), and my favorite band right now is probably Red Hot Chili Peppers. My favorite color is red. There we go! Pretty much, I'm hoping that if I keep this blog updated I'll be less likely to give up on my goals. I will update the Summary as frequently as I can. Other than that, I will post how my progress is going, and respond to anyone who responds to this :^_^: My Goals: 91 HerbloreWhy?: The ability to boost using Spicy Stews to 96 Herblore for OverloadHow?: Making whatever potion happens to be cheapest at the timeWhen?: When I get the money to do it from GWDCurrent Progress: 85 Herblore. tonguetamer3
80 to 99 Prayer requires 210k Big Bones when used on a gilded altar. That comes to about 130m (Med price on GE). Thanks for your support  Runescape: Winter 2002/2003 - May 2011
The Dark Lord
Tip: Only use gilded altars with marble lighters. Otherwise, you don't get the full gilded altar experience. Good luck. tonguetamer3
Tip: Only use gilded altars with marble lighters. Otherwise, you don't get the full gilded altar experience. Good luck. Thank you. However, I was under the impression that as long as both burners were lit, it did not matter which type of burner was used. According to the Tip.It Prayer guide: "Getting the maximum prayer out of a home altar is dependent on using incense burners. (Mahogany and marble burners give the same bonus as the basic oak incense burner.) " Runescape: Winter 2002/2003 - May 2011

Thanks for your support  That is cheap, but man 210k of them? That's a lot of work, but the skill cape is quite respected, and the skill is certainly useful. tonguetamer3
210k... The number seems quite high to me as well lol. Runescape: Winter 2002/2003 - May 2011
Obtaurian
You definitely don't need special lighters for the altar. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.
tonguetamer3
I have made a discovery. Watching my experience go up while doing this is not the way to keep myself motivated. Rather, watching the number of Big Bones go down is. While the experience is fairly slow, the bones disappear at the same rate, whether they are Dragon or Big Bones. Runescape: Winter 2002/2003 - May 2011
The Dark Lord
I could have sworn that the prayer guide used to say that the burners each gave a certain bonus, which is the reason why I made marble lighters for my gilded altar 2-3 years ago. tonguetamer3
Hm... I'm not sure what the guide used to say, or if it was different than what it says now. I also put marble burners to go with my altar, but more for looks  Runescape: Winter 2002/2003 - May 2011

tonguetamer3
Have fun spending 150 hours on that. I'm not sure if it will be fun, and it will be closer to 250 hours. So far it actually seems quite tolerable though. Runescape: Winter 2002/2003 - May 2011

stonewall337
Well, you have tort, so 1.3k bones/hr. 160 hours. If you pay attention that is, and only if you are using your own house. Alg
Well, you have tort, so 1.3k bones/hr. 160 hours. If you pay attention that is, and only if you are using your own house. That's actually still faster than 99 fishing via monkfish. And people get that frequently. Tempest_Mike
Wow that's a hella lot of bones but quite cheap compared to dragon bones. :oHave you compared other options?Good luck. :D
tonguetamer3
The only two options I really compared were Dragon bones and Big bones, and like you said, big bones were much cheaper. Well, you have tort, so 1.3k bones/hr. 160 hours. If you pay attention that is, and only if you are using your own house. Is it really that much faster to use my own house? I'm assuming this would include teleporting to my house and then teleporting to Edgeville using a glory. 1.3k bones/hour would be 50% faster than the rate I'm currently going at, so if this number is true, it definitely seems worth it. EDIT: Using my own house really is that much faster. The issue is, using all of those house teleports (5k) and marrentils (10k) will add 12m to my costs. tonguetamer3
I have decided that using my own house will definitely be worth the extra cost. The amount of time it will save me easily outweighs the cost. Unfortunately...My house is a little lonely. On the bright side...I got a strange rock for construction! Runescape: Winter 2002/2003 - May 2011

258ForLife
Thats a good choice to do Big bones rather than Dragon bones because of their cost. You should buy them all to have 99 Prayer Banked! Or you could kill Green Dragons  Youtube user name: birdman258 200MCook 200mPrayer MakinWines MyF2pSkillersGoing for Level 99 Magic & Level 99 Smithing!!!Going for 200M Woodcutting exp!!!!!!!0346-0077-6360 Mario kart WiiI hope that you are Reporting the Bots! tonguetamer3
I considered buying them all at once, but I think I'm going to keep buying them in large chunks, mostly in case I give up later on :-( Runescape: Winter 2002/2003 - May 2011
