How to stop the boredom?

Recommended Posts

Well I've reached 89 firemaking and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice to stop the boredom while training? Sorry if I'm doing something wrong the is my first thread.

Edit: thank you all for the advice.

Simple answer: Stop.

Just don't train it if you find it boring. I'm just gonna go on a little rant here...

Countless times, I've seen people say "OMG, fletching is soooooo boring, but I gotta get it to 99". No, you don't HAVE to get it to 99. You are forcing yourself to get 99 in it, but for what? So you can get respect because you have a skill cape? Well, guess what, no one is going to care about a fletching cape anyways. Now, if you genuinly loved the skill, then sure, go ahead and train it, get 200m exp in it, because you have fun. However, if you don't have fun, why are you wasting your time? You could spend the time elsewhere, like minigames/quests/other skills.

Now, I don't know what your situation is, but if you're just training firemaking to say "I have a 99", then I advise you stop, please don't become another one of those idiots who wastes hours and hours just to get an easy cape to "show off", no one will care. Go do something fun in the game! But if you like the skill, and are just getting bored after training a long time, just take a break. Play castle wars, then go back to training and you'll enjoy it again. I know how the later levels take a long time between, so it could get tiresome, but if you take breaks, it'll go much faster than you realise.

Sorry just had to get that off

Or you could watch a movie. Just mess around a with your screen setup (half rs, half movie), until you discover what works best for you. It really does help :)

I like to have my screen set up like this

screensetup.jpg

Exactly what i do while training makes time go by faster is more fun.

In other words: We got a ban hammer in varrock mines. It's jackin yo [censor] bots, slappin yo macros up, tryna ban em, so ya'll need to hide yo scripts, hide yo clicks, and hide yo logs cause they bannin errbody up in here.

Just make it so that the RS half of the screen shows enough of ur invy to click logs and so u can see ur character. You might need your RS half to be bigger then 50% of the screen just adjust it to your liking or what works

I tried loading YouTube in half the page but that make runescape lag so bad for me it's not playable. Any other advice?

Honestly, I never found a way to not be bored while firemaking: it's really just boring because of the repetitiveness, and the concentration that's required.

I did two things.

Split the screen and watched vids

Played SC inbetween set amounts of logs.

Stop firemaking?

There's no point in doing something you are BORED with to do: aren't you gaming for FUN?

If something is boring, it should at least bring more fun in the end: and I can safely guarantee an inferno adze is useless! (if working for ivies, you won't need the burning options, and if you want to collect logs the burning option is annoying)!

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.
