I haven't done a whole lot of trips with overloads but I've one enough to hardly understand how people get like 100 kc with overloads..... I know most people who get alot have turmoil/soulsplit and divines but I still know how I'm doing is horrible. I get ~5 boss kills per trip which I hear is horrible. I have 99 att/str 95 def, 99 constitution and 89 summoning. My set up is helm of neitiznot, karil's top and bottom, soul wars cape, whip, defender, dragon boots, barrows gloves, ring of life and dragon claws for specials(borrowed because I don't own any, to poor :( ). I know there is better equipment like a DFS but I really don't have that kind of money right now. My inventory is hammer, claws, Uni pouch and scrolls for when tort is dead, tele tabs and the rest is brews (I use 1 super restore for every 5 brews and I still tend to have some left over). My tort is full of brews/super restores to. I do not have very high prayer, only 74, and don't bother suggesting to train it because I know I need to but don't have the funds(hence soloing bandos).

 

So for the main point of my question is what am I doing wrong, what can I change for my set up(keeping in mind I have a low budget) and what should I do for a strategy (like when to brew, overload etc.)

 

It would be greatly appreciated for anyone who could help me with this by explaining or posting a picture. (I like pictures if you have them I learn better by seeing things :P but don't go out of your way to get one or anything) :D

You should get it to at least 90. Are you using overloads or just extremes?

I use overloads. Also I would like to add the comment: UGGGGG I HATE TRAINING MAGE!!! Oh well I`ll have to suck it up. What`s a good way to train it with minimal loss but still alright xpÉ(the é is a question mark it just stopped working and turned into that lol)

 

Still would like some information on other ways I can inprove my solos if anyone else has some advice.

Melee barrows helm and legs, dhide/karils top, and a dfs/obby shield/spirit shield. That's what I see people using, and then get a damn nice amount of kills, and that seems to be the only thing you're doing wrong.

cant help you with that, almost all of my mage from 80 is from DKs, barrows, pking, the circus, and brawling gloves :thumbup: From what I've heard, I would suggest super glass make, and string jewelry once you have the level.

bandos gs would help but unless you already have it u probely wont be able to buy it

I'm pretty sure whip + defender/whatever other shield and claws is alot better from my personal expierence and others. Is there anyone with some personal expierence who can help me? Not that I don't appreciate the help but I'm looking for more than a vague answer that's why I would prefer someone with personal expierence. I'm still grateful for all the input though. :)

Don't use godswords, like at all. Not even for specials. D claws are your best bet their. All I can suggest is...the people who get 20+ / trip have turmoil + soul split (so they can heal more), maxed stats and dfs (which provides a [cabbage]load of defense.)

Yeah I always figured as much, I guess I'll just get by with my stats until I solo something good then put that into even better equipment. To bad I have horrible luck at GWD. I got my first ever solo drop a few days ago.... it was GS shard 2. <_< I acually missed 2 hilts, 2 tassys and 1 BCP all in 1 day at FFA. I was getting 60% of the kills. Oh well back to killing!

My stats were 99 atk str def and hp with 78 prayer, 79 summoning, and 89 mage, while my ivn looked something like this

10 Bones to Peach tabs, i never used them all

The rest of my ivn was filled with rock tails and the same goes for my turtle

Well yak lets you take 50% more brews, bones to peaches is nice, sometimes it just takes some practice with soloing bandos, and of course soul split.

In all honestly I see much better solo performance when I use full Bandos VS. Tassets + Karils Top. When your doing Bandos solo, the mage will hit you, but the majority of the damage comes from Gra's Range attacks.

 

Since a fair portion of your magic defense is your magic level, using proper gear you can get a +magic defense even in melee armor quite easily making the mage still splash a fair amount of time.

 

High Risk setup would be like:

Fury

Whip + Defender

Barrows Gloves

Dragon Boots

Soul Wars Cape / Fire Cape

MA Dragonstone Ring

 

Lower Risk setup would be:

Neitz Helm

Guthan Plate

Ring of Life

(Bandos Pools would be good for KC)

 

The majority of the people you see getting the High KC's are in full melee gear, not in Karils or D'hide, so I would advise against wearing either and wear range defense instead.
