I wanted to make a new game, something unique, special, one that wasn't too rigid and allowed for change. This is what I came up with.

 

This game takes place in an alternate, oppressive universe. Nameless tyrants rule over the nameless masses, and pay no heed to anything but their own gain. While those who rule would like to believe everything is perfect, the true nature of this world is corrupt and damaged. Technology and magic intermingle, empowering one another, and rifts in reality itself are commonplace. In this game, you start with nothing (except a simple knife) and stand to gain everything, up to and including complete control of the universe itself. The only limits are your intelligence, your imagination, and your ingenious use of the materials at hand. I will do my best to provide something unique, and will think through every room of every building with as much clarity as I can muster. Of course, there are things I do not know, for example, if you wanted to build something by hand, tell me how you want to do it precisely and I will determine if the needed resources are present. You have five posts each (counting from the first person to post) per in-game day, conflicts do not count, and will be played out as per most other games on the forum, but otherwise five actions = one day. If you choose to do something at night, post that as well, but every night without sleep leads to a one-point roll penalty the next day, resolved the day after that unless another night action is taken. Sleeping in dangerous areas is, well, dangerous. I will roll if you sleep, say, out in the open in a forest to see if you get mauled by a bear or not.

 

The game starts in a simple, ramshackle cabin made of wood and metal, containing ten wooden beds, a refrigerator, and a monitor hooked up to a satellite and a computer. A hatchet is leaning in the corner.

Archi-(I'll take all five actions in this post)

Action 1:

I take the hatchet and examine it carefully. If I think that it would be useful I slide it into my belt so that I can carry it with me.

Action 2:

Then I examine the 10 beds to see what they are made from(Ie matress, pillow, quilt...ect, ect.) I work out which is most comfortable and remember this, this will be my bed.

Action 3:

Then I check out the fridge, seeing what is inside it, if it is plugged in, where it is plugged in, how many plug sockets there are and if anything else is plugged in.

Action 4:

I go to the computer and see if I can log on, if I can I search the computer for any kind of information/games/ect on the hard drive. If I find some then I read it, if I don't then I see if there is any sort of Information Network in existance, and try to connect to it, if there is and I can connect to it I run a check for any tracer programs or any other kind of techo-trap then I search for some information about this world. If I can't get on to the Info Network then I access the satalite and see if I can get a fix on my position(after checking for tracers and such). If I get a fix then I anaylse the information to work out what is around me if photos are avalible, if there are not then I scan the area by seeing if there are any other computers transmitting data. In anycase I then shut down the computer(after reading through as much as I can find). (Basically I go to the computer and see what I can find out about the world)

Action 5:

Then I perform a check of the house itself, seeing if I can find any trap doors or other things which might pose a problem, as well as finding out if there is a lock on the door, also if the cabin has a bathroom. I also check for a bookcase or any books of any kind, I then check them, page by page, reading each page and absorbing the knowladge. Once I am reasonably happy that I am fully aware of what is in the cabin, I go to the fridge and get some food(if there was any) and eat it(if it is non-toxic and doesn't require cooking). Then I perform a 8 hour check of the bed with my back, with one 9:59 hour period of unconscience.

i go outside, and look for some wood.

i grab the hatchet if it isnt in use, and i dont find any ct, usuable wood.

i then cut wood, and make a bow from it.

i then make arrows.

i look for a food source.

Archi:

The hatchet is just that - a hatchet. You slide it into your belt (everyone has a belt and basic cloathing).

The mattress is a simple, Bonnel-Coil mattress with wool quilting. There is a wool blanket, and there are no pillows. All the mattresses seem to be almost exactly the same.

The fridge is filled with ten loaves of bread. You surmise that with the current number of occupants the shack's food supply should last ten days. It seems to be run via battery. The fridge is mid-sized, and the battery fairly strong, so it should last for the rest of the month.

The computer seems to be brand-new, and has no unessential programs on it other than an internet browser. You try to hook up to the internet, and come to a site seemingly providing information on the state of the economy, wars, and news. You get the sense that the information is not accurate, as it advertises the fact that all citizens are provided all required food rations, top-notch medical care, and good housing. Suddenly, a message notification pops up in the corner, which reads: "Uyo era how?"

The cabin is fairly simple. There is a kind of basin in a small side-room, which is apparently the toilet. You use it, and it seems to remove any stench and sterilize the "leavings." There is a wooden bar across the door, which opens inwards. There is nothing else in the cabin, save for a small wooden aqueduct-like apparatus crossing one wall of the cabin which seems to siphon water from what must be a small, elevated trickle of water. You go to sleep.

 

For future reference, you will automatically eat, sleep, and drink unless stated otherwise or such an action is not possible/appropriate in the situation. Also, I will answer one post at a time, and after each post will wait a few moments for the author of the next post to revise his actions if he so wishes.

Also, if you're in a town or some other action-sensitive location, please make one post at a time. And interactions with others of any sort, not just conflicts, are not counted toward the post per day limit.

Earth:

You open the door and see that the cabin is located in a forest, and one wall is built against a mountainside that has a small stream flowing through a crack in the face of what is essentially a cliff. You see a slightly decayed deer lying on the ground, which does not seem to be fit for consumption.

Okay, new character time...I don't want to use Enigma or Ares again, so I'll go with Thade.

 

Before I start, are there any specific limitations on magitech?

Nope. None whatsoever. Do not assume that you can use magic at all, though. Trying to use magic results in a dice roll, which will determine your prowess and whether you can use it at all. You can also wait, hoping for aan event that will give you magical powers. This game is meant to be unforgiving. But remember, nothing is impossible.

mrg. i try to learn how to bring the dead to life (necro) (ima hate it if ii dont get this..) using the dead deer as a target.

1. Thade walks to the computer and attempts to meld his mind with the satellite, giving him a constant feed of the terrain around him.

 

2. He uses the satellite to check for a nearby town.

 

3. He replies to the message "Fnie ma I"

 

4. He then wanders outside and looks around.

There are no conventional classes of magic, it is based on creation, destruction, and neutral magics, as well as karma. =)

 

Turn 2:

 

Earth:

The deer shudders, and begins to rise to it's feet.

Karmic Decision: Do you want to fully revive the deer, healing its wounds and returning its spirit but gaining no guaranteed dominion over it, return it to life suspended in it's current stage of decay and relatively suppressed in spirit, under your control, or possess it with a manifestation of your magic, giving you full control of it but dooming it to decay over time until it is sustained only by your magic?

 

Thade:

Please post one action at a time. I'll give you two actions, as neither should take long:

You receive a slight electrical shock, and nothing happens.

You receive a message in return: "Uyo era how, odiit!"

i fully revive the deer. ill use some of the other options when i get a human corpse

Earth:

The deer clumsily stands, its skin patching back together as it rises and a gleam coming back to its once-dead eyes. It looks at you, and there seems to be an inordinate amount of intelligence for a deer in its gaze, likely a side-effect of the magical revival. It slowly walks towards you, and stands at your side.

i wonder if it can comunicate with me, and try to make a telepathic connection with the deer.

Turn Four:

 

Earth:

You attempt to create a telepathic link, but are almost immediately repelled by magical backlash and a barrage of nonhuman thought processes. The deer seems similarly affected, and is knocked unconscious.

whops.. i try to wake the deer, and then i look for enough wood to make a bow.

Jen awakes, and checks if the hatchet is still there. (Does this count as an action, since I'm clarifying something from the first post?)

Last turn of the day (in-game day, of course):

 

Earth:

You fail to wake up the deer, and then find a long branch slightly thicker than the average bow.

 

Jen: It doesn't count, no. And the hatchet is in Archi's belt.

i drag the deer inside, and then go to sleep (if anyone kills my deer, ima kill you.)

Any other final actions?

 

Please post what you do before going to sleep (or staying up for a night mission) in turn five of a day.

Jen tries to levitate random things using magic, tossing them around and stuff.

Mather awakens and heads into the forest, snapping small trees to collect wood and collecting anything usefull that he sees, if he spots any small animals then he throws rocks at them.
