Isn't IAG, starting IAG * infrastructure?

No.

Well, the Duna was a one time thing to improve the thrusters, a constant supply of fuel wasn't needed. But if I had left and had a 5 year headstart, I could have been a 1000 ly away in any direction, and be completely unfindable.

Yup....Until Dusty researches a Duna tracker...or just builds a bazzilion ships and sends them all out on different vectors, creating a sphere of death-err-Dusty, even.

He would need more mass in ships, than all the planets under his control to build enough ships to find someone with a 1000 ly lead. Even if he did have Duna tracker, he couldn't catch up.

Yup, I agree, these Duna Thrusters are, in no way, over powered

Anywho, according to his own figures he would have be able to build 10,000 times as many ships as you could...If I remember correctly that places him at about 4000 battleships per year.

There are 281,189,573,305,064,642,650,465,026 kilometers to search. Assuming a sensor radius of about one and a half a light year, and travelling 50 Light years per year... So cover 75 Light years, per year(709,554,785,443,560 kilometers)

It would take 396,290,151,336 years for 1 ship to do it.

With 4000 ships you could cover 2,838,219,141,774,240,000 kilometers. (.00004%)

With 8000 ships you could cover 5,676,438,283,548,480,000 kilometers, plus the 4000 you had already covered (.00016%)

And so on and so forth for 41 years, until you have covered 63% of the 1000 lightyears. The next year you have covered 180% of it.

Thats assuming that Dusty doesn't beef up his production levels...

Or indeed take over any of the production facilities left behind by other people...

He could also use Duna Thrusters, doubling his search area, and probably Duna Sensors, increasing it even more...

And, of course, that he didn't find you straight away, as these calculations are the longest you could stay hidden.

Even if you went further than 1000 light years, he would, eventually, out produce the speed at which you could flee.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Grim I thought we had a deal?

I was offering you 75% reduced space ships and bulking your land in Mars a little.

Well seems that deal is off, doesn't matter to me, anyway I pick 42.

Also @Ross, what do you want for your exosuit and crysis battle suit research?

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Well, by the end of those 41 years I would be a further 8200 lightyears away, in any direction.

What? Only 4,000 battleships a year? I had been able to do that for years.. And no, the Duna was not overpowered. Think of it this way. There are two cars with infinite fuel, that travel at the same speed. The first one starts 5 hours before the first one. The second one will never catch up unless the other one stops.

Well, by the end of those 41 years I would be a further 8200 lightyears away, in any direction.

How is that so? Duna only doubled speed, and it was 50 light years per day normally...

What? Only 4,000 battleships a year? I had been able to do that for years..

That makes it even easier for Dusty, since he now has, at least 40,000,000 per year, which means he could cover the whole 1,000 light years within a single year....The only thing stopping him now is the speed of his ships.

Think of it this way. There are two cars with infinite fuel, that travel at the same speed

Think of it this way. If I start doing something no one can ever stop me, I am unbeatable.

For example:

The SFW announces a new shield. It provides 100% protection, no matter what is thrown at it, for 1 second, for every second it has been active. Its not overpowered because there is a way to beat it, if we turn off the power.

Which is basically your justification there...

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

At last, we shall be blighted by Hex no longer.

Anyway, I love how nobody factors me into the "Who would have won Hegemony V1" debate. I had a production capacity of pretty much infinity, due to finding a wormhole which lead me to about 25 systems full of delicious delicious planets.

Not to mention planets which were pretty invincible, ships which couldn't be boarded and some of the most advanced weaponry in the game.

Anyways, Grim, I pick 29

Ross, you sort of faded into obscurity...Like the mad old wizard is fantasy games, he could own everyone but instead spends his time thinking up even more ingenius ways to own everyone.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Egyptian says:

"We are cutting costs by getting rid of the big, cheap, armour, and, instead, using thin, expensive, armour."

Shame I couldn't put a comma between the using and thin....Ah well.

Anywho, going to sleep for a while at least. Toodle pip all.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Zz, that's right, I magically found a wormhole that lead me to a planet of sexy women and golden trees.

And you had a production capacity of infinity...if you decided to munchkin and stop paying your drones anything and using them as slave labour, which everyone had decided was OP and would not be allowed. So yes, if you had cheated you could've won.

But didn't you like...disappear into the universe or something silly like that?

Yup....Until Dusty researches a Duna tracker...or just builds a bazzilion ships and sends them all out on different vectors, creating a sphere of death-err-Dusty, even.

Hehe I did send out like 20,000 ships to find Terfan.

Well if the war had raged on for much longer I would have just crashed ships into your planets (I believe I had some in the midgard system for quite some time). Also the daedalus cannons were fun

Erm, I don't see how it would be possible to have ships 'hidden' in the heart of my empire.

And the daedalus cannons only worked because Arch decided that my dirithanium plating (which was there to counter exactly what daedalus cannons did), didn't exist.

More likely no one told me.....Or rather, told me afterwards...or had a nice generic 'It counters everything'

Anywho, Grim's Stealth Strategy probably involved the sterlisation of Midgard so no one noticed, followed by the ships landing on the Capitol building and ordering takeout.

I swear I told you. I know I mentioned it like once every 20 pages or so anyways.

It would've taken his fleet around 100 years to reach Midgard, with Project SW.

Hey Rocco, I'd rather you confirmed with me before making any modifications. They're using very effective armour right now.

Dusty, it was one of those probes. I just happened to get lucky and find a wormhole with DELICIOUS PLANETS TO CONVERT OMNOMNOMNOMNOM.

And I myself decided that (The fairly logical) plan of using mechos as free labour was OP, and so decided not to do it.

At the end, I created a computer the size of a star and used it to warp reality and dissapear from existance itself to persue a new, perfect universe. Because that's how I roll.

Ross, what do you want for your exosuit research?

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

I can in the end catch up with you and overtake you.

I can push it further than both of you XD, I was going to allow you to use the university at will for the exosuits if you sold me em.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Now, I'd rather keep this civil, but Icu, you know my philosophy of "Spreading tech around everyone makes it useless and fail.", so you know that I'm going to need an offer, and not a threat, okay?

Having a wonder does though, Ross has more money than me, so why would I say I could overtake him? I know money doesn't do anything for research.

The offer is, I'll allow you to research exosuit tech + any other techs you want.

The exosuit research you will have to go halfsies on though, you can research infinite (or until me or you can't afford it) exosuit projects.

I also point out the large desert which is actually useful if you think about it that India gave to you.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Desert is not useful <_<

But you've already said I can use the University, it just seems like that is your instant, default offer to buy anything at the current time, when it doesn't actually grant me that much of a boon over the current deal we have.

You see what I'm getting at here, right?

No you can use the university for only one project right now, Sere was only able to do multiple due to striking up a deal.

Desert is useful! Harsh enviroment for training, great front on Dusty, good space for testing weapons.

If you don't want it, I'll take it back then O-o.

Hmmm, well I haven't much to offer you, I could simply refuse to just give you any research at all but thats a [bleep] move and also your my ally.

Perhaps I give my robotics research when its done?

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.
