Weapons in daemonheim

Real quick, I'm just wondering, what is the best possible weapon to use in daemonheim? I'm currently using a promethium maul, but I hit a LOT of zeroes. Would anything else really be any better? I've heard the spear is good, but I haven't gotten that as a drop YET.

Maul > Spear > Rapier.

 

It's how I do things in FTP, maul works like a charm. Try using other combat styles, this whole skill relies on your knowledge in the combat triangle.

 

For example, when you see a Mager, you melee him/her; you see an ice elemental using mage, you melee it back. Simple comcept, really.

And other than the info above only thing better than promethium is primal

Hey, I've found that a spear works best because of its versatality. It's got all 3 attack styles and the monsters really depend on those weaknesses to kill fast.

The maul is good though if you want sheer power, but I'd still use a spear if you get one because it's faster than the maul.

That's probably a good idea, but I'm yet to get hold of a good spear. Don't forget to poison it, you can also poison bound daggers and spears and they will remain poisoned between floors, so it's an upgrade with no downsides. Here's the three poisons:

 

Weak poison: Level 21 Herblore, Sagewort and Firebreath Whiskey

Poison: Level 54 Herblore, Wormwood Leaf and Firebreath Whiskey

Strong poison: Level 87 Herblore, Winter's Grip and Firebreath Whiskey

So a longsword (even promethium) isn't that great?

 

Nice tip about poisoning the spear. Sure seems like the winner if you can get the strong poison on it!

I used to have a promethium longsword. I made a promethium rapier and found it much better.
