Complexity 5 vs Complexity 6

Featured Replies

All those skill doors and challenge rooms getting very annoying so i'm thinking of switching to complexity 5. Is that a good idea? I would lose 34% xp but gain all 13% of the bonus room score 100% of the time, also I've noticed that the more rooms your clear out the higher your base xp is so thats a plus too, Also it should increase the speed in which I complete dungeons.

But i'm not 100% sure its a good idea. Anyone else (more) experienced have an opinion?

BTW: Is there ANY way i can increase dungeon size and dungeon difficulty while soloing?

No.

If I recall rightly bonus rooms are part of complexity 6 (along with the challenge rooms and skill doors)

Meaning complexity 5 you can't get 13% bonus room bonus

You can get someone to start a medium with you, they leave so u can solo it ?

It'd probably be hard to find someone willing to do that though.

I am f2p... (I just fixed status in control panel) I'm getting doors that need 94 str, 104 fm ect. which is lowering my bonus room % and base xp

Thats not anything to do with complexity.

Jagex jsut decided it was a good idea that bonus rooms can require w/e the hell they like regardless of if neone on the team can access it.

Cause of course its not a pointless waste of resources to generate a room that you alreayd know no-one can get into or benefit from.

Of course it's not a pointless waste of resources to generate a room like that. In fact, they in their lofty judgment add rooms requiring over 99 in a skill in F2P where even boosting potions can't be used.

It's not really a waste of resources. At a guess, the only thing about the dungeon that's generated at first is the overall map, doors with locks, the location of the boss, and the general location of the keys. That's very small and easy to process. The finer details of the rooms (resource type, resource tier, resource location, monster type, monster tier, skill/unlocked doors, the boss type, room layout), which still isn't that information heavy, would be generated individually when you 'reveal' a room, so rooms you don't access are only generated to the stage of a few bytes of information. It's the different combinations of those variables that give you such a huge variety. You'd be surprised how efficiently it's done.

Oh, and lowering the complexity isn't a good idea unless you want to catch up to a friend at a higher (as in number) floor so you can team up or you are still learning the basics, the xp penalty isn't worth it.

Always do Complexity 6. The xp penalty from 5 and below just aren't worth it, and they are less fun in general.
