Soul splitting TDs

Is soul split enough healing to tank TD's (using melee)?

That is, let the TD switch until he starts using melee, switch to soul split and stay on soul split

Does it still require a unicorn?

Also, if I'm feeling lazy, is just keeping turmoil on a good idea at TDs? Turmoil has a 1-hit delay so there's some inherent loss when switching between leech range and turmoil, opposed to just turmoil

I dont see why you wouldnt just use deflects...but I doubt it would be, especially when your trying to drop the shield with darklight.

edit: I said excaliber insted of darklight >.<

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

Because I'm trying to develop a method of doing TD's that requires so little attention that I can watch TV.

And no, you would have to use deflect while dropping the shield, because this method would only work when the TD is attacking using melee, and most likely it's attacking using mage when you're taking down the shield

uh I think you should pick a different boss for AFK-ish money making.

TD's arent the only boss that makes decent money.

Only other thing I can think of is Rex, but Rex makes significantly less profit

I don't like doing Corp

Soul split should heal ~60 HP per TD. coupled with Uni, it may be enough, if you have high enough melee defense on your gear

I used to tank TD's using no overheads at all, if I had extra HP (but this is pretty dangerous and isn't sustainable for more than ~7 hits

Solo rex and prime is extremely good afk money.

Exactly why I mentioned it on your thread :)

Idk, I prefer the short trip lengths and the ease of transport for TD's.

Don't you still need to switch weapons a tds?

Yeah, but that's not too hard. I can do it nearly reflexively because I've done TD's for so long. You pick up things like being able to tell when the TD switches protection out of your peripheral vision.

I can already do TD's while watching TV, and that's even with protection and attack prayer switching. I just want to try out the soul split method to make it even easier.

Do you know what peripheral vision is?

OT: You do "learn" when the TDs switch attack styles over time. It seems to be on a somewhat timed basis.

I was trying this today with steel titan and overloads, and always killed a td without its shield coming back on., so it seems plausible if you have a SGS. They rarely hit with their melee attack.

Hmm. Looks like I have a reason to get 99 Summ.

By the way, what gear were you using? Verac bottom or Karil bottom?

Verac bottom, gives much higher defenses and steel titan usually takes care of the range part.

I'm only 96 Summ, and don't want to get 99 yet. I'm trying to think of a way to compensate for my range. Plus I'll be staying on turmoil only. Wonder if Geyser titan is any good?

I don't know as I'm only 96 summon too, but I'd say that it is the special move of the steel titan which makes it so effective; it's d claws but in range form. I've used iron titan there, but you spend more time ranging than doing anything else.

I'm only 73 summon, and plan on getting 88/96. So far, combat familiars suck [wagon]. Is there any reason at all why you'd use one over a yak or uni? 0_o

Combat familiars become okay at 79, but only for slayer and other "grind" training like that. The only combat familiar worth using at bosses (and only TDs and Arma, to my knowledge) is a steel titan. But when it comes to training, always use a combat familiar once you hit 79.

At tormented demons, the only reason you'd use a combat familiar is for the steel titan's Steel of Legends special move, which just tears them apart as long as they're not praying range when you use it. The reason that combat familiars suck so much, to you, is that you're 73 summoning, and the really good combat familiars start at 89 summoning.
