Originally I was hoping bonecrusher would save me alot of money on prayer, but the results seem negligible for the 34k token price.

I would need nearly 1.4m normal bones or 411k big bones to get 95 prayer with it.

 

If I got one I would mainly use it for slayer, but it doesnt seem to help much even if I got 99 slayer with it.

 

Any suggestions on what to get? i dont pk at all if that makes a difference.

If you like to do slayer, the gem bag is amazing for the measly 2000 tokens. It can store 100 gems, which helps on monsters like dust devils and goraks. It is also a huge benefit to gem mining, which may be useful now due to the high value of rubies and diamonds.

High value of rubies and diamonds??!?! Last I checked all jewelry and gems were crashing due to the rogue being nerfed. Am I missing something here?

Never mind. I haven't been on in a while after doing that new quest :S

the tiny amount of extra xp and the lost inv space hardly makes the bonecrusher seem worthwhile, especially considering the fact that it still has a fairly high cost.

 

If the rogue hadn't been removed, the gem bag in Bando's throne room would've been epic, but unless you do a lot of gem mining, it hardly seems all that useful either.

 

When it comes down to it, I don't really know.

my recommendation is that you wait for batch 2 to see if any more useful rewards come out.

that or save up for a chaotic weapon, as those seem to be the most useful item in the batch right now.

 

 

arcane stream is amazing (but not every does combat magic)

if you are 93 slayer, or if you like slaying abyssal demons with fire surge (which is as fast is almost as fast as an abyssal whip + turmoil + overloads)

then yes it's useful.

 

antipoison totem is OKAY for jade vine + pyramid plunder.

But you can manage both without.

 

from what i've heard, scroll of life apparently has a 10% of returning your herb seed whether it survived or not (which is not what the KB says)

that's up to 18k more expected profit per seed from a torstol!

7k from a snapdragon

 

scroll of renewal looks nice, it boosts your natural LP healing to 3k/hour. Note tha a bunyip only gives 4.5k/hour

coupled with a regen bracelet that would be 6k/hour

rather amazing for skilling (thieving)

but once again at places like pyramid plunder, it might be overkill at 100k+ tokens.

 

tome of frost - only good if you're gonna be going around bursting stuff.

a few water runes here and there aren't going to make or break you.

 

the chaotic weapons seem to be the biggest game changer. I'm saving up for those.

What has the rogue to do with 20k diamonds? As far as I know, they were just merched (or diamond bolts were merched) and all of the diamonds were cut into diamond bolt tips anyway. Not made into some stupid necklaces that sell for 5 (? ) k?

Have to say I don't know ALL the details, but I think it goes along these lines...

 

Jewlery (unenchanted) and therefore the gems that make them used to be a big item for f2p merch clans who would regularly buy them out driving up the price.

 

The great thing about these items is that they could be sold instantly and in bulk to the rogue trader (I think) for GE min meaning that there was never any fear of the item crashing from people dumping early. You were always guaranteed to be able to offload your stock.

 

But now with the rogue offering less, they won't be bought up as much and the price is therefore dropping back to what it should be.

 

Also with the ring of forging update a little while ago, rubies started dropping anyway.

 

Overall it's been a bad time for gems =(

Back on topic: Are the 2 new prayers any good? Augury seems to be the Piety for magic jagex said they were thinking about. Rapid Renewal seems a bit useless, considering that its 65 prayer requirement would probably include fast draining.
