Hi all,

 

Firstly i'll point out that I haven't ever really pked before, but i'm now getting so I thought I may start messing around pking

 

So, as you can see in my stats, my levels are:

 

99 Range

99 Mage

97 HP

97 Defence

 

Combat level 105 (that's ignoring summoning obviously)

 

So, main questions are concerning:

 

Equipment - Ideally not too expensive as I forsee my self dying a fair bit and although I have a good enoguh cash pile, don't really want to spend it all, for now we'll say I have give or take 5m to spend on stuff. I'd like to buy a few sets so it doesn't matter if I die.

- I was thinking somethign along the lines of: Rune skirt, black d hide top, accumulator, snake skin boots, rune xbow, rune kite, archers helm, glory, diamond (e) bolts

 

Where to pk - I was presuming running around Varrock?

 

Food - to use sharks/monkfish or sara brews or both. Range pot obviously and probably sup def but anything else?

 

I have access to most usefult things, the only thing I don't have is lunar magics so no Vengance for me, although I can be pursuaded to get it if it seems a necessity?

 

Any other pointers will be gladly recieved!

I'm not very good with Range Tank advice, but one thing for sure is to get vengeance as it will be a huge help.

You need lunar- full stop. you can earn cash by venging and healing and spec restoring people- and all other spells come in handy!

Right, Veng is a get, that's easily doable so thats fine, anything else rather than the veng thing?

After you're a little more confident you might want to switch out lower-end defence armour like the Rune Plateskirt for barrows, Torag's Platelegs etc...

Get veng and risk high in non +1 I'd reccomend torags legs+helm black dhide body glory accumulator rcbow+ss/hand cannon snakeskinboots and barrows gloves. Use onyx and dragonstone bolts use brews insted of super defs, range pot 2 supper rests bolts veng casts and rest rocktails. Use eagle eye steelskin and rapid heal.

Well vengeance is a must, and lunars isn't too hard so get that first. You should PK in a +1 BH world and use full black d hide, glory, snakeskin boots, accumulator, ring of recoil, sharks for food, and you can use a sara brew+restore pot for defence with added hp, along with a super anti and a ranging pot. Use a rune crossbow with diamond/rune bolts and switch to dragon bolts (e) for the KO.

 

Depending on how much $ you have, you should use either a DFS(also protects you from d bolt specs) with an archer helm or a torags helm with a granite shield. You will protect the DFS or torags helm. If you get good you can have a zammy book/wooden shield and a bronze helm in your inventory that you can equip to lower your defence bonus when you vengeance. This will make it so your opponent is more likely to damage you, triggering your vengeance at the same time you shoot him

best and cheapest tank gear

torag helm- prot in +1

dhide bod

power ammy- imo 45k cheaper than glory and around same stats

dhide chaps>any skirt, defense bonuses arent that bad if you compare, hits > anything, also veng will hit more on them

addy boots- underrated boots, adds around +10 defense bonus

rune sqr- 22k,5-10 defense bonus less than kite

rune bolt/dbolt switch, or diamond/dbolt up to you

 

magic shortbow to use spec and get rid of opp veng without hitting too high on yourself.

 

-prun, hope that helps total risk is like 150k-200k, pretty cheap for range tanks, def bonus around 180-200, switch chaps for r skirt if u want.
