If you are gonna make some money of mining, you can resell pic when you are done! Just get one, it helps quiet a bit!

Check out the past 30 days of price change for the pick. If you think it won't drop much, then go ahead and get it and resell it when you're done. You won't lose much money IMO.

It'll help you train faster = more time for you to do other stuff = less cost.

I'd personally do iron and coal and make steel, then to cannonballs for a nice big profit, but your method sounds good too.

Good luck :)

i was thinking about also adding superheating to my method and superheating the gold ore as i mine it that way i get mining+smithing+magic xp all at once.

If you want less profit for magic xp, that's your prerogative.

ok after much consideration and some math i decided that im not going to superheat but just mine the gold ore. Now i was wondering if it would be worth it to mine at the gold mine where the guy can bank the ores for you at the price of 3 ores/invo?

I'd say d pick is only worth it if you plan on going after large amounts of xp.

Basically my logic lies in the fact that d pick will save you 10% of your time (since it boosts chance at getting ore by 10%), so if you are only going to save 1 or 2 hours of time by buying it, is it really worth it? I'm not sure how easily d picks buy/sell on the GE or even on the street. But it could take more than an hour to buy/sell it.

And although I believe they are stable, if they do happen to crash, you lose millions just to save 1 hour of time, vs if you went to 90,95, or 99, the crash wouldn't really affect you since even if you did sell at a loss, that would be absorbed over many hours saved.

that said, I still think it's worth it if you have the money to buy one. Remember your ring of charos too. And tbh if you want the gold for smithing, you might as well superheat, since you can superheat while mining. It'd be easier to do at concentrated gold in LRC, but still possible at keldagrim. Sure you won't profit from the gold, but you'll save A LOT of time, worth far more than whatever you'd make from the gold ore. Also you'll get magic xp.

I really don't see the dragon pick crashing enough to worry about in the near future. I'd buy it, because you can always sell it. I bought mine and just walk around with it most of the time.

And about superheating, I'd actually recommend it. Superheating can be better xp than alching, plus you're leveling smithing and magic at the same time (make sure to wear Goldsmithing Gaunts!), and if you do it while mining concentrated gold, it doesn't slow down your mining rate either.
