Dragon Pickaxe

If your jumping between multiple skills, I'd recommend using a Rune Pickaxe or Infernal Adze, the price of Dragon Pickaxes are a little too high if your not going to be grinding it a lot or have PLENTY of spare cash.

It is maybe 10-15% better. So if you get 10m exp then it will be 11m with dragon pick axe in the same time. Defiantly a difference, especially considering you can sell the dragon pick back for at least nearly the value you got it for after you are done with it.

Bottom line, if you plan on serious mining, get it. If you are a relaxed miner, its not worth having ti sitting in your bank when the money could be somewhere else like merchanting for example.

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

i say it isnt worth it, whether you mine 10 hrs a week or 1. you cant really justify paying 15m for 2-3 seconds faster per load.

You can if you sell it back after you're done. Faster mine, minimum loss.

but youre running a risk of losing maybe 3m on the pickaxe for an insignificant time cut....doesnt really make sense.

Personally I don't see any use in it, nor much of a difference, but then again I have 99 mining. But if you have the cash, and can't see yourself using it on something else, then I guess you might want to get it...

Having done mining 1-98 entirely in f2p, and the last level with a dragon pickaxe I should say it's worth it.

Of course it's fairly expensive, though if you have reasonable wealth I don't see how that can keep you from using it. In my personal opinion it does make mining more pleasant, it looks awesome (if you care about that), and if you do change your mind you can always sell it back. It can also be used for lending if you're into that.

The short answer is yes.

The long answer is yes, definitely; the dragon pickaxe is a significant improvement on the rune pickaxe, and unless you need your money free for merchanting, there is no drawback to keeping it and selling it back later on. You'll probably even make a profit if you buy one today; the graph is at a dip right now.
