The first Tip.It Clan Tournament is over, and we would like to hear your verdict feedback.

Please keep it constructive, so we can use it to improve - we really want to. :^_^:

Not sure, 2v2 was a mess with drawing re drawing etc, make it more fair or allow people to get to choose partners (That way the babies can have what they want)

I like how you can chose what styles, but doesn't make sense for a clan to do melee binds and then next round to melee binds range in the 20v20 category as an example.

Ehhhh few miss ups and extending it was alright.

 

5. What improvements could the Clan Staff make in the administration of the event?

Faster responding to controversial topics.

 

6. What rules could be changed, added or improved to make the tournament better?

idk.

Report Feature(If it's reportable material) > IRC > Forum PM > Forum Posts > MSN

Yes this makes Tip it interesting and maybe make clans join TWR

not much i can say but 3 styles+ seems good

yes it was ok but had alot of extending caused of updates

uhm try to administrate more the adding on ml on 2vs2 :unsure:

the tournament seems good im pretty sure some improves to the 2vs2 will make things even more exciting

Run well, just a few hiccups but that's natural. Nothing major went wrong, so I'd say it was a success :)

 

2. Would you like to see it run annually?

Yes, although time of the year could come off a bit better!

For Categories offered, I wouldn't go by player number as much as styles used. Maybe make an all styles, melee+binds+range, and melee binds category, and cap it at 30. Then have a 2v2 full out category. I just think having all matched options limits clans somewhat, although in truth it does show who the better clan is.

All styles should be a more regular occurance, make it it's own category in my opinion. Make the styles consistent too, so clans can't do range+melee+binds for one then melee+binds for the next, to hinder their opponents chances. (Example: Clan A fights with range on against Clan B, because of Clan B's weak range unit. Then Clan A fights Clan C with range off, because Clan C's range unit is epic.)

 

4. Was the timing of rounds okay?

I'd say the timing of the whole tournament was poor. Finals/midterms depending on education level, Easter, a lot of stuff came up. Maybe summertime would be a much better time for the 2011, because their is a lot less hindering a clan's ability to pull/set war dates.

 

5. What improvements could the Clan Staff make in the administration of the event?

I'd say it was pretty well done altogether. Don't let clans pick their own partners, that's asking for blow-out fights, unless you make it so one clan has to be under 120 Combat average or something like that.

 

6. What rules could be changed, added or improved to make the tournament better?

I've said every rule change/improvements I have above that I can think of, I'll be sure to post more if I can find some more improvements that could be made. I think timing is the big one though, and offer a regular full out all styles category, where EVERYTHING goes.

 

7. What is your preferred way to get in touch with a Clan Staff member? IRC, MSN, forum posts/topics, forum PM, other?

Forum PM is probably best, IRC is great too. Depends what you need really.

i liked the categories but mabye if theres enough interest make one for teams and one for clans and one clans+teams category

It was as good as it could have gone considering it was the first tournament held here, so there were bound to be mistakes/mishaps.

Of course.

I think Melee+Binds is good standard but the option to fight with varied styles is nice. Although Melee+Binds will always favour the clan with the higher levels so you could always add a few different style fights. Like a 30v30 Melee+Binds+Ranged and a 30v30 All Styles.

For the size, yes. More categories means more time. Stop giving extensions though, really, its so annoying when people go out of their way to get fights set up in time and maybe take a day or time they don't really want just to get it done, only for you to make an exception and extend the deadline further ...

 

5. What improvements could the Clan Staff make in the administration of the event?

Bit more proactive with it. Took ages for some of the posts to be made about the next round or the winners etc. Just get it done a bit quicker.

 

6. What rules could be changed, added or improved to make the tournament better?

Set out some house rules for everything OTHER than time and day - that way if theres a dispute, you can just say "house rules" and thats it.

It was alright for the first time running. I'd say a little bit more practice is needed for it to be perfect, which is nothing to be ashamed of. Hell, even Jagex didn't do the best on their first attempt.

Yes, I don't see why not. It would further prove Tip.it's efforts towards clans.

A full out or matched category might work. It gives clans the opportunity to drop less amounts of people, especially speaking to clans who pull more than 70 on average to a PK Trip.

Should be all styles for house rules. Would give newer clans opportunities to try it out, and to train up for it thus improving them.

Yeah, I feel they were alright.

Perhaps more thought out decisions. I remember during the beginning there was a little bit of hesitation like when an entire drawing was nulled.

I stated that perhaps house rules could change to all styles.

I prefer IRC because it's the easiest for me and I'm sure most clans have access readily available to IRC anyways.

Nothing that I haven't previously mentioned.

I think it was great fun except a few things other clans had but idk about those, I really enjoyed it, especially the 2v2 part as my team Silent Ember ended up with probably the best partner we could wish for - Clan Europe.

I think the ones we had this year are pretty decent, though a 40v40 matched might have more sign ups than the 50v50 did.

I think all styles and bind/melee only wars should be a different category, imo those two are totally different story and the outcome might be different.

I think it was okay.

Shouldnt accept any complaints about the drawings, its all based on luck, and the participating clans should accept that.

Iunno, it would be nice if you could war for 1 clan and 2 team though... :rolleyes:

I dont really get in touch with them but I'd prefer IRC / forum topics & posts probably.

I think doing the different style wars in a different category would make more fun, but ofc more hard work for you guys ;o
