May 29, 201016 yr Sorry, I just felt like I should mention how laughably horrible the fan-subs are for episodes 18 onwards XD XD They get practically every name wrong and you can barely understand what the hell they're talking about most of the time. Its a shame because I prefer the japanese voice actors in comparison to the admittedly dull english ones that have just premiered. I should probably be grateful it has been subbed at all. What can I say? I'm hungry for childhood reading nostaglia. It was an excellent series and the anime portrays it brilliantly. Its times like this I wished I chose Japanese in highschool, damn Latin...

May 29, 201016 yr Author It's a bit of a stretch, but I think it works. Especially due to the episodic nature of the books. Also, I read somewhere that Emily Rodda commissioned it herself because her kids were into anime. Was pretty huge in Japan during 2007.

I mostly remember that being how they encoded messages they sent over long distances. Where they also had to remove the words that related to a drawn picture beside it.

May 29, 201016 yr I remember those being my favorite books when I was in third and fourth grade, I remember being so happy when the last four dragon books came out, and I believe my brother still owns one of them. Great kids series, and I tried to read them again a year ago, but the vague, child friendly writing style just didn't work for me. Anyway, the anime looks like something cartoon network should get the rights to. I'd probably watch it if I could find a decent English dub. EDIT: Oh, Australian Cartoon Network has the dubbed version playing currently. Maybe American CN could quit playing crappy cartoons and reality shows and give this a shot?

May 31, 201016 yr Author yes, but in this instance, it is especially horrible with a complete disregard for the source material. Anyway, I never said this was a new phenomena. Basically telling people to wait until the official subs are released if they are curious to watch this series passed episode 18.
June 6, 201016 yr Hmmm I've never seen the tv series for Deltora Quest, but they're the best books I've ever read. I seriously hope Deltora Quest is turned into a set of movies one day. Come on Peter Jackson.... :pray:
