Could anyone explain what spending slayer points on killing techniques more quickly actually does

I swear tht was part of tht reward; not got it myself but on all other threads regarding the matter auto-chimes been pointed out as a benefit of it for high lvl slayers, alongside the garg hammer thing.

The autokill reward was introduced at the same time, but the chimes were a separate update.

I can confirm that the auto chime is different from the slayer reward. Also, i'm my opinion, the auto-kill is well worth getting, even if you only kill gargoyles with it, can save up to 5 mins a task.

And you can view these forums at the same time. That was the only reason I had gargs blocked before this update.

Personally I'm still doing the quick points method, so I also get rock slugs and desert lizards for tasks :rolleyes:

I find ur logic flawed.

If u pay 100% attention.

 

With ability:

You can use the item to kill slightly sooner, if u do misclick or mis-time or hit harder than expected and thus take monster to 0 ability will kick in for you.

 

Without ability:

If you misclick etc. you gotta then do the hammer or w/e and prob take slightly longer than if the ability had kicked in.

 

So surely regardless of attention level the ability is good as a safety net?

As a safety net, yes, sure go for it. But a safety net is hardly worth 1m.

 

Btw, if you do use the hammer prematurely, IMMEDIATELY click "attack" on the gargolye again. You won't lose any rounds of combat if you timed the hammer right after an attack. Timing is everything.

 

So no, if you misclick, you won't lose any time unless you go crazy and click on the other end of your minimap, or something.
