Thank you Jagex for making the update hidden. The update that concerned the price at which the Rogue in Varrock buys unenchanted jewelery.

 

I just lost 5.2m due to them not announcing this significant change from GE minimum to low alchemy price.

 

Why not announce this? It is a pretty significant update. Due to Jagex's idiocy i am now 5m down. That will take at least 10 hours to earn back.

 

Don't say it is my fault for not checking, because i did check. I checked to see if it had been changed via Search on the Runescape website, and nothing came up. So, i assumed that i was good to go.

If they gave a message, would it have changed anything? The only way that you could've prevented loss was if they gave advance notice before the change. And then, well, good luck being able to dump your supplies for any sort of break even cost, because everyone would be doing the same thing you were. You'd probably be even WORSE off!

 

I personally lost 10mil on this as well, but you live and learn. Always ask before you invest in a training method, especially one that takes so many hours of training. Or buy in small chunks. ANYTHING can happen in the course of a month, and it's not worth the risk.

What? I EXPECTED to get minmum GE value for them, and instead got low alchemy value.

 

And if they had said that they had changed it in any of the 20 or so updates since they did, then when i searched i would have had a result and would have put them onto GE at minimum as appose to selling them to the rogue.

They said it in the patch notes and patch notes are only mentioned on the forums. They don't come up as hits when you search on the site, because search engine for forums and site are separate.

Can confirm they announced it.It was ~2-3 weeks after gold amulets were merched to higher prices, thus creating profit for the manipulators.

Also, this is like what would happen if Jagex removed rares. It would piss a bunch of people off, but it would be better for the economy.

 

This update was probably just to balance the game and remove any unfair advantage gained from doing this.

I'm gonna go ahead and run with this tangent:

 

Unless you want to never be able to buy spirit shields, godswords, and bandos in the GE, you really don't want discontinued items to be removed. Think before you post.

They should really put those patch notes on the front page. This is the first time I've even heard about Jagex releasing patch notes, I don't go into the forums.
